FULL REVIEW: A Spicy and Stunning Cupcake Is Back EARLY in Disney World’s Animal Kingdom!

We’re dreaming of a white Christmas complete with polar bears at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

Ok, so it’s still reaching the high 80’s in Florida, but we can dream about the holidays! And, it’s a good thing that this returning cupcake popped up way earlier than expected to make our dreams come true!

Last year, we got the chance to snack on the ridiculously adorable Menagerie Polar Bear Cupcake that was inspired by the Merry Menagerie holiday puppets and figures in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Although we haven’t seen the menagerie itself this year (we miss you guys), the Menagerie Cupcake was still slated to return in December!

However, when were in Disney’s Animal Kingdom today, we spotted the Menagerie Cupcake looking as sweet as ever with its early debut at the Flame Tree Barbecue! Obviously, that meant we just HAD to have one (because how can you resist that cute little face?!).

The Menagerie Cupcake is made with gingerbread spiced cake, cream cheese frosting, and the white chocolate polar bear topper for $5.99. We were just as excited to try it this year as the cupcake is still easy on the eyes and a joy to bite into!

The cupcake looks the same as last year with icing, crystalized blue and white sugar, snowflake sprinkles and candies, and a white chocolate polar bear with the same markings as the Merry Menagerie puppet! It was almost too cute to eat…we did say almost, though!

The frosting was delicious — the cream cheese helped balance out the cake, which was extra spicy. It reminded us of ginger snaps that we can’t get enough of during the holiday season. But, if you’re not a fan of ginger or spiced cake, you might want to skip this treat and go for another Christmas goodie instead. While we would have enjoyed a fun filling or maybe some extra cream cheese in the middle, the Menagerie Cupcake was just as good as we remembered it to be!

While we found this guy at the Flame Tree Barbecue, the Menagerie Cupcake is also at at Restaurantosaurus. Disney listed the treat as available from December 1st through December 30th at Creature Comforts also (but we could always see it arrive sooner!).
