Although much of Disney World has reopened, some hotels and attractions will remain closed through November.

Magic Kingdom

However, please note that at least one hotel has actually REOPENED in November — Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will remain closed through 2020, but does have a solid reopening date — the value resort will reopen on February 9th, 2021.

Guests will be able to make reservations at the resort for trips after that date.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will not reopen, though, until the summer of 2021 due to a Moana-themed refurbishment. DVC Villas and Bungalows remain open at this time.

Recently the monorail station has closed at the Poly and we have already started to see progress on the exterior of the hotel. We can’t wait to see how the hotel will look once the refurbishments are done!

Attractions Closed for November 2020

Magic Kingdom

Both Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat are currently closed for refurbishment. These refurbishments are currently planned to last through February 28th, 2021. We have already seen Rivers of America drained as Disney refurbishes the area.

The PeopleMover, which experienced some technical difficulties prior to Disney World’s historic closure has yet to reopen. Since then, we have seen rolling refurbishment extensions and at this time the PeopleMover’s refurbishment has been extended into 2021.

You can read more about the PeopleMover’s situation here.

The Walt Disney Railroad, which is closed due to the construction work taking place on TRON Lightcycle Run, is also still not running. A reopening date has not been shared at this time. Guests are able to take photos in front of the train at the Fantasyland station.

Frozen Ever After is also undergoing a short refurbishment and will be closed from November 2 – November 6.

Luckily this is a VERY short refurb, so the attraction will be open for most of November.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Star Wars: Launch Bay is currently closed. The location is being used as a relaxation station where guests can go to take off their masks for a little while. So technically, it IS open, but at this moment you can’t meet all your favorite Star Wars pals inside.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid is also temporarily unavailable at this time.

Animal Kingdom

Guests wanting to get up and close with animals at the Affection Section will just have to wait a little longer to do so — it’s still closed. The same also goes for the Boneyard Play Area in DinoLand.
