When Buena Vista Street reopens next Thursday, November 19th, it’ll be the first time Disneylanders step food inside the parks in some capacity in over eight months! With the exception of the Stage 17 Backlot Premiere Shop, the parks have been totally off-limits as California is keeping its larger theme parks closed for the time being.
Besides the fact that we’ll be able to take in the sights and sounds of Buena Vista Street next week, there are some incredible returning FOOD items that are a HUGE deal to us!
Carthay Circle Lounge – Alfresco Dining
Let’s kick things off with the new Alfresco Dining experience at Carthay Circle Lounge. Their outdoor seating is being expanded in BIG ways to offer guests the opportunity to dine on a menu of small plates of Mediterranean-California light types of food created by Chefs Andrew Sutton and Alex Flores.
While the menu will feature new items, it will also highlight some returning dishes, including the Duck Confit Empanadas and their Vietnamese Twice-cooked Beef Tacos.
The lounge will also serve some of California Adventure’s signature cocktails, like Pimm’s Punch, the Carthay Martini, and a Classic Gin and Tonic.
You’ll definitely want to make sure you grab a reservation for Carthay Circle Lounge — Alfresco Dining ahead of your visit to Buena Vista Street!

Award Wieners
While we’re super stoked to step into California Adventure, we couldn’t help but notice that Buena Vista Street doesn’t QUITE extend that far into the park, so several beloved dining locations are omitted from this initial reopening, mainly Corn Dog Castle. In the world of Disneyland snacks, the corn dog is by far one of the most iconic eats you can get!
The corn dog gods must have heard our prayers because Corn Dog Castle’s menu is coming to Award Wieners! Cue happy dance!
That’s right, starting next week we will at long last be reunited with the Original Corn Dog, Hot Link Corn Dogs, Cheddar Cheese Sticks, and Apple Pie Funnel Cake Fries!
While we’re looking forward to more of Award Wieners‘ regular menu coming to Buena Vista Street, we’re OVER THE MOON that Disney decided to bring Corn Dog Castle’s items over for us to enjoy sooner!

Smokejumpers Grill
Another counter service location that will reopen as part of Buena Vista Street is Smokejumpers Grill! Located in Grizzly Peak, their menu is looking a little trimmed down for its initial reopening phase.
Fans of their Bacon Cheddar Burger will be happy to know that it will be returning next week! But we’ll have to wait a bit longer before we can dig into their Signature Mac and Cheese as well as their Chili Cheese Fries, both of which are not included on the menu at this time.
And while we aren’t spotting Seasonal Shakes on the menu quite yet, they WILL be serving classic Chocolate and Vanilla shakes.
Fingers crossed that they’ll bring back their over-the-top shakes in the coming weeks and months. We wouldn’t mind sipping on a Snickerdoodle Milkshake again, or perhaps a Minty Yule Log Shake in time for the holidays!
Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe
If you need a little pick-me-up during your trip to Buena Vista Street, you’ll be happy to know that Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe will be open! This cozy corner cafe is California Adventure’s flagship Starbucks location, serving your favorite lattes and cold brews. Fun fact: did you know that this was the first location to serve Starbucks inside a Disney park?
While we don’t yet know for sure if Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe will be serving any specialty items, we did spot “Seasonal Cupcake” on the menu…so maybe we’ll spot a holiday treat or two! Last year they this location had a Mickey Gingerbread Man as well as a Holiday Brownie, so only time will tell!
Regardless, we are looking forward to once again starting our day on Buena Vista Street with a hot cup of coffee!

Trolley Treats
And last but CERTAINLY not least, we cannot wait to buy one of EVERYTHING at Trolley Treats!
While we’ve been able to enjoy Marceline’s Confectionary in Downtown Disney to stuff our bellies with Churro Toffee and Caramel Apples, we wouldn’t be lying if we told you that we’re REALLY looking forward to enjoying these treats inside a park once again.
We haven’t heard if Disneyland will be selling their hand-pulled Candy Canes this holiday season, but we’re pretty confident that no matter what Trolley Treats is serving, we’ll be gobbling all of it down.

WOW! From Churro Toffee to Corn Dogs, there is plenty to look forward to when Buena Vista Street reopens next week! Disneyland is full of amazing snacks that we’ve missed TONS since the parks closed back in March. Be sure to follow along as we eat our way through Buena Vista Street!
