Recently we saw Anaheim County, in which Disneyland Resort is located, push-back to the purple tier for coronavirus cases.
While Buena Vista Street reopened earlier this month, the California theme parks have remained closed due to guidelines from the state. Now, Los Angeles County has issued a stay-home order as cases continue to rise in the area.
According to the County of Los Angeles Public Health Department, the county’s new stay-home order is in response to the surge of cases in the country’s most populous county. This is a three-week long order that begins on Monday, November 30th. The order advises people to stay home as much as possible and to wear a face mask when they do go out in public. This also bans gatherings with people who are not in your immediate household.
Businesses are allowed to stay open with limited capacity and face mask requirement. Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said, “Acting with collective urgency right now is essential if we want to put a stop to this surge.” She also acknowledged that “we are asking a lot from so many who have been sacrificing for months on end.” Outdoor activities also require distancing and face masks to be worn.
Although Disneyland Resort is located in Anaheim County, a stay-home order could also be put in place there soon. We will be on the lookout for this in Anaheim, and let you know how this will affect Disneyland.
