We here at DFB, along with all of our West Coast friends, have been getting geared up and VERY excited for the opening of Buena Vista Street!
Last month, Disney announced that the Buena Vista Street area of Disney California Adventure would be reopening for shopping and dining purposes as an extension of Downtown Disney. This news has been very exciting, as this is the first time in eight months that guests will be able to step into a Disneyland Resort park! In preparation for the opening of this area on November 19th, we’ve been anxiously watching the area for updates, and today we spotted Christmas decor!
Standing outside of the park’s entrance, we could see the holiday cheer beginning to arrive! There are garlands strung up the lampposts, topped with red Christmas bows. We could even spot festive window displays, with mannequins dressed in their holiday best!
Down the street, we noticed more garlands and wreaths. Everything just looks so magical!
The Five & Dime was spruced up nicely, reminding us a lot of the decorations we’ve seen on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom.
Cast Members were out and about getting everything nice and clean. We even noticed new hand sanitizer dispensers to go along with the enhanced safety measures.
Standing outside and catching these small glimpses of the park made us feel a lot like Princess Anna waiting for Arendelle to open — “Tell the guards to open up the gates!”
It’s so encouraging to see Disney decorating for Christmas in California, even if only a small section of the park will be open. We can’t wait to share all the updates with you as we get one step closer to visiting the Disneyland parks again!
