Although most of Disneyland Resort remains closed for the time being, Downtown Disney reopened for business this summer.
Downtown Disney stays pretty busy on weekends, weekdays tend to be quieter — except for today, when we noticed weekend-level crowds there.
These crowds are probably due to today being Veteran’s Day, a national holiday. But we still found it a little surprising to have to wait in a long line of cars to park at the Simba parking lot. And once parked, we noticed a lot of people heading to the entrance.
There’s also a long line to get through the temperature and security checks. The line currently switches back five or six times.
However, everyone is doing their best at maintaining social distancing. Cast Members are also walking down the line and explaining the health and safety guidelines to guests waiting to get in.
The line for World of Disney switches back and wraps all the way back to lost and found in the esplanade.
It’s likely these crowds will be more evenly dispersed between Downtown Disney and California Adventure — even on weekends — once Buena Vista Street in California Adventure opens for limited dining and shopping. We’ll keep an eye on the situation and keep you updated!
