Disney has released additional details regarding the upcoming holiday festivities to occur beginning today (11/6) in the Walt Disney World parks, and tomorrow (11/7) in Disney Springs. Let’s take a few minutes to go over some of the in-park celebrations we’ll be seeing.
In Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the projections that we’ve seen over the past few years on the Tower of Terror will return as the Hollywood Holiday Tower Hotel. The projections will include a Muppets-themed gingerbread house, a Frozen/Arendelle theme, a Mickey’s Christmas Carol theme that evokes Dickens, and a Toy Story hotel projection. Santa and his elves will be featured in their own motorcade down Hollywood Boulevard complete with red convertible, and For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration will have a special holiday singalong tag ending starring Olaf.
The character flotillas that we’ve seen in Disney’s Animal Kingdom will continue, but with a holiday twist. Donald’s Dino Bash Festive Flotilla will take to the water, featuring some of guests’ favorite Disney friends. Chip and Dale will continue to greet guests from their flotilla, the Discovery Island Drummers will continue to bring fun (and now festive) percussion to the park, and Santa himself will greet guests from the park’s waterways.
As reported previously, the Magic Kingdom will also get in on the holiday festivities with a bevy of castle projections, including a Christmas sweater overlay. Magic Kingdom’s special holiday snacks will be available to guests all day beginning today, and Santa will begin greeting guests in a physically distanced way as he proceeds down Main Street, U.S.A. in his sleigh. Mickey and his friends will also appear in a holiday-themed cavalcade, and the Dapper Dans will entertain guests aboard the Holiday Trolley. The toy soldiers from the Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime parade will also join the Main Street Philharmonic as they play holiday tunes at various times throughout the day.
Beginning November 7th in Disney Springs, Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet guests as they glide along Lake Buena Vista on pontoon boats. Guests will also be able to view specially-themed Christmas trees located throughout the complex as part of the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll. DJs will entertain guests throughout the day, and the stilt walking toy soldiers will return to walk among guests at night, and snowfall will occur randomly throughout each evening.
The Taste of International Festival of the Holidays will begin in EPCOT on November 27th.
