REVIEW – Enjoy Festive Food, Drinks, and Decorations at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar

Who would have thought that a bar loosely themed around the Indiana Jones movies would get into the holiday spirit? But sure enough, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar at Disney Springs is perhaps the most festive lounge in all of Walt Disney World this year, especially since Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto still has not reopened. Jock Lindsay’s is full of great detail and theming, but during the holiday season it is filled with bright and colorful decorations. Plus, festive food and drinks are added to the menu. A stop inside Jock Lindsey’s during the holiday season is a must when visiting Disney Springs.

There are three holiday theme cocktails on the menu, plus a Cranberry Kringle beer, and a specialty cookie platter served with a small carafe of Coquito with Malibu Rum – more on that later. The Holiday Nog, one of the cocktails, is a big hit with most everyone.

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is indeed a bar–an elaborately themed bar, but a bar nonetheless. That being the case, the food menu consists of small bites. Our team ordered all three of the Holiday Exclusive food items, plus the Milk and Cookies by the Fireside.

  • C9 Light Deviled Eggs – Colored Eggs with Shrimp and Tobiko Caviar -$12.00
  • Papa Noel’s Churrasco – Grilled Flank Steak with Pumpkin Seed Chimichurri, Fried Sweet Plantains, and Spicy Aji Amarillo Peanut Sauce – $14.00
  • Grandma’s Favorite Sliders – Venison Sliders with Cranberry Bacon Jam, Tomato and Watercress – $14.00
  • Milk and Cookies by the Fireside – Coquito with Malibu Rum with Chocolate Peppermint Gingerbread Men, Spiced Sugar Christmas Tree Cookie, and Butter Pecan Signature Cookie – $25.00

The C9 Light Deviled Eggs conjure the image of large C9 lightbulbs, and are colored red and green. The shrimp with the tobiko caviar certainly is a different take on how to top a deviled egg. For having such interesting toppings, the flavor was weak. We suggest heading to Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ if you’re in the mood for deviled eggs.

For something hearty and a little spicy, the Papa Noel’s Churrasco was a hit! The Spicy Aji Amarillo Peanut Sauce brings a nice heat that isn’t too strong. The cook on the steak was nice, and stacked into the shape of a Christmas tree – a very flavorful plate. Another savory plate, Grandma’s Favorite Sliders, was another hit. The venison itself was high quality and the Cranberry Bacon Jam should be bottled and sold!

For dessert, the Milk and Cookies by the Fireside is meant for sharing. Six small cookies are served on a platter with a small carafe of Coquito in the center. Originating in Puerto Rico, Coquito is a holiday, coconut-based alcoholic beverage, similar to eggnog. Malibu Rum is mixed with Jock’s version of Coquito.

Our website and our Lines app have listings and ratings for all Walt Disney World restaurants and lounges. Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar has a 91% thumbs up rating and is ranked number 29 out of 58 other Walt Disney World lounges.

If you like kitschy style Christmas decorations, festive music, and themed food and drink, you’re sure to have a great time at Jock Lindsey’s during the holiday season. The interior is decked out in holiday decorations, as is the exterior. There is an outdoor dining area, but it is not decorated all that much. Still, a visit to Jock’s is a must if you want to immerse yourself in as much festive fun as possible.

Have you ever visited Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar? Would you try any of these festive offerings?
