Happy holidays from World Showcase in EPCOT! We’re taking you with us throughout the day to check out the holiday festivities and (most importantly) the food at this year’s Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays!
As the event kicks off, we’ve been indulging ourselves with themed eats and drinks from the MANY food booths at the pavilions. And, we’re happy to see that the Shi Wasu Holiday Kitchen has brought back some menu items from previous years and has also added a brand NEW treat to the list!
Love Soba noodles or Sushi? Shi Wasu Holiday Kitchen is the place to be at this year’s Festival of the Holidays!
Food
When you stop by this booth, you can try something savory like the New Year Celebration Soba, made with Buckwheat Soba Noodles, Hot Dashi Soup, Shrimp Tempura, Fish Cake, and Chopped Green Onion for $7.50.
We loved the shrimp in this bowl because it had a tempera texture and flavor. If you like ramen noodles, we think you will really enjoy this bowl! We wouldn’t say it was our favorite savory item at the Festival so far, but it was still quite yummy.
If you’re looking for a lighter option, you can grab the Chirashi Sushi Tree, which is made with Sashimi-grade Tuna, Salmon, Ikura, Yellowtail, and Vegetables on a bed of Rice for $6.
If you’re looking to try something brand NEW, there is now a strawberry dessert that you can grab to finish your trip to Shi Wasu! The Ichigo Mont Blanc Tart is a Strawberry and Bavarian Cream-filled Tart that’s sprinkled with Konpeito (which is a Japanese sugar candy).
Overall, the tart wasn’t bad but it wasn’t exactly the cutest.
The flavor of the tart reminded us a bit of the strawberry tart we’ve had in the France pavilion at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie, but we honestly have to say we’d prefer the one in France by far.
Beverages
Want a drink to pair with your eats? You can sip on the returning Sapporo Draft Beer for $4.25 for a 6oz serving…
…a Tsubaki Whiskey Sour, mixed up with Plum Wine, Whiskey, Cranberry Juice, Sugar, and Lemon for $7.75…
…or the non-alcoholic Ichigo Milk Boba, which is a Cranberry and Yuzu Cream Drink that has Japanese Calpico and popping Strawberry Boba Pearls for $5.25.
Well, that’s all for us from the Shi Wasu booth. We still have so many other food booths to visit, and we’ll be taking you with us to see them all! Be sure to stick around as we explore everything this year’s EPCOT Festival of the Holidays has to offer.
