D-Luxe Burger is a great spot for an affordable bite in Disney Springs!
Serving up some crazy burgers, a delicious chicken sandwich, and several flavors of artisanal gelato shakes, this place has typically been a step above regular quick service offerings in Disney World. And for the holidays this year, they’ve added two items to their menu: the Holiday Turkey Burger and the Eggnog Gelato Shake. We headed over to D-Luxe to see what we thought of these options!
As we walked up to the restaurant, we noticed that some more outdoor seating was added in front! The tables here are safely distanced from one another and have a great view of the surrounding area.
This is one of many Disney restaurants where guests are currently being asked to Mobile Order. The two menu options were listed under the “Holiday Exclusives” section of D-Luxe’s page in the My Disney Experience app. The shake is brand new this year, but the burger is returning from last year.
Once our order was ready, we picked up the food, and honestly, everything looked delicious!
We wanted to drink the Eggnog Shake before it got too melty, so we tried it first. The shake is made of vanilla gelato blended with toasted marshmallow, caramel, cinnamon, and nutmeg, topped with whipped cream. The description said that the shake was supposed to come topped with a cinnamon stick, but it was absent from ours.
We found this shake to be VERY nutmeg and cinnamon-forward. If you like those flavors then this one is for you! It had a very accurate eggnog flavor, and it was overall pretty creamy. (Exactly what we want in a milkshake!)
If you aren’t a fan of eggnog, then you likely won’t enjoy this shake. For us, we thought it was the perfect way to bring Christmas cheer to the hot and humid place that is Florida. You can get it from D-Luxe burger now for $7.50.
Moving on to the Holiday Turkey Burger, we were surprised to see how large our entrée was in person!
It’s $13.49 by itself, but you can add a side of fries for $4.99. The burger comes with a turkey patty topped with bacon-cranberry jam, a butternut squash risotto cake, lettuce, and tomato. We were OBSESSED with this last year so we did a little dance when we saw that it was back on the menu!!
We cut it open to see what it looked like on the inside and the risotto cake also contained cheese curds (Surprise!) that weren’t listed on the menu.
Overall, we really liked this burger. It was big and quite filling, but the flavors worked really well together. The turkey patty was a tad dry, but it was well-balanced by the creaminess of the risotto cake and the tartness of the jam. It was a tad different than last year’s version, but we loved it just the same!
We honestly would’ve liked to have a little more of the bacon-cranberry jam — it added some extra flavor to the whole combination. We think that most people would enjoy this burger, except maybe those who don’t like squash.
All in all, this holiday meal was really delicious, and we would definitely order it again. Who knew that you could make such a sophisticated meal into a burger-shake combo? We’ll be on the lookout for any more seasonal treats in Disney World, and we’ll be updating you along the way!
