I have been seeing the giant Mickey-shaped iced sugar cookies all over Walt Disney World for years and years, but I’ve never eaten one before because there were always so many other incredible treats that sounded far better to me than a cookie.
Here’s a little something you should know about me and cookies; they have to be soft, chewy, and also taste amazing or I don’t waste the calories on eating the rest. I’m especially picky when it comes to sugar cookies and to this day, I have not been able to track down the perfect one unless I bake them myself.
I walked into Bay View Gifts (BVG) at Disney’s Contemporary Resort last week and the beautiful cookie pictured above was calling to me. I had visited Magic Kingdom earlier that day and was feeling all Christmassy so it felt like the perfect time to try this beautifully decorated cookie. I was a little apprehensive about it but hoped for the best.
I cut the cookie into quarters and it was pretty soft which was a really good thing, but other than that, I’m sorry to say that it wasn’t overly special. In fact, there wasn’t honestly a whole lot of flavor here. I feel like it could’ve used more butter and vanilla to kick the flavor up a notch or two.
The icing on top of the cookie was where I found most of the flavor in this treat which wasn’t the worst thing, but I think next time, I’ll save the calories to try a different treat like maybe the Wookie Cookie over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
