Things may look a bit different for the holidays this year with no Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and no Candlelight Processional, but one thing hasn’t changed...there’s still a TON of delicious holiday food to eat!
We’ve been trying a whole bunch of amazing items at the 2020 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, but there’s always room for more! Today we’re checking out a BRAND NEW warm pretzel STUFFED with brown sugar! O.M.G. Will it taste as good as it sounds? We’re about to find out!
If you’re looking for a few fun holiday items at the Festival of the Holidays you can head over to Refreshment Outpost in EPCOT, which is located between the China Pavilion and the Germany Pavilion in World Showcase.
Although this spot usually has some menu items of its own, it’s also got some special drinks and a yummy snack for the Festival of the Holidays. Let’s take a look at their special holiday menu.
Menu
Refreshment Outpost is stepping up their snack game this year and offering a special Warm Brown Sugar-stuffed Pretzel with Soft-serve Ice Cream and Chocolate Sauce this year for the festival! We repeat — Warm. Brown. Sugar. Stuffed. Pretzel. OMG.
The warm caramel-stuffed pretzel that was served at this spot during the 2018 Festival of the Holidays was SO GOOD it made our 2018 Best of the Fest list. So we definitely had very high expectations for this sweet treat!
But, before we get to eating, let’s go through the drink offerings here as well. Fans of Spike the Bee will be happy to see that his sipper cup is available at Refreshment Outpost with a Frozen Slushy — either Coke or Minute Maid Lemonade.
This sipper first came out in this year’s Flower & Garden Festival, made its return in the Food & Wine Festival, and now is back for another round of fun! It’s not the most “holiday” thing we’ve ever seen (it reminds us a bit of that “holiday” drink we had with gummy worms), but it is definitely cute!
For those looking for an alcoholic beverage, there’s also a 3 Daughters Brewing Spicy Apple Cinnamon Hard Cider (St. Petersburg, FL), being offered here as part of the festival. Okay, enough chatter, let’s dig in!
Food
Where do we even begin with the Warm Brown Sugar-Stuffed Pretzel? First of all, this thing is quite the sight to behold! Between the pretzel itself and the ice cream and chocolate sauce on top, we could NOT WAIT to dig in!
The pretzel was, in a word, DELICIOUS. The combo of a warm pretzel with cold soft serve ice cream is the thing dreams are made of. Sure, there’s nothing super unique here flavor-wise, but sometimes simple is best.
Not to mention this is a decent-sized dessert! For $8.25 you can savor this yummy sweet treat!
Drinks
For beverages, we sipped on the 3 Daughters Brewing Spicy Apple Cinnamon Hard Cider from St. Petersburg, FL. And we’re glad we started off with sips, because this is a legit spicy drink.
We were totally taken aback by just how shocked we were at the heat. Think Fireball, but WAY hotter. Despite the burning sensation in our mouth, we kept drinking it, out of confusion, curiosity, and more confusion. We’re not exactly sure how this concoction came about, but if you’re into hot cinnamon flavors, you can brave this Hard Cider for $9.75.
For something a little tamer, you can pick up the Frozen Slushy served in a Spike the Bee Sipper. This non-alcoholic option is your choice of frozen Coca-Cola or Minute Maid Lemonade and costs $15.
While Refreshment Outpost’s menu is far from the largest at the Festival, it always packs a punch with what it does offer! Don’t forget to check this spot out as you make your way around World Showcase!
