All of the decorations and merchandise in Disney World may suggest that we’re skipping fall and Thanksgiving and heading straight to the holiday season, but some spots in Disney are not quite making the full jump just yet!
We got to try a fall-themed cupcake at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort recently, and today we’re headed to another Disney resort restaurant for some more fall flavors — this time in the form of a GIANT milkshake! If you love pumpkin pie, you NEED to see this!
We had some delicious, over-the-top milkshakes at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop in Disney’s Beach Club Resort before, but this one may be one of the most insane ones we’ve ever seen! Introducing the Salted Caramel Pumpkin Pie Milkshake! And you don’t have to have a reservation to get this treat. We were able to snag it at the to-go window!
The base of the milkshake is vanilla, but it features a salted caramel drizzle to give it that salty and sweet flavor. And the best part? The milkshake is topped with a WHOLE SLICE of pumpkin pie! YUM. There are also some whipped cream, fall sprinkles, and (of course) little chocolate Mickey ears to complete the look.
Okay, so it’s HUGE and super cute, but how does it taste?
Let’s start by talking about that WHOLE PIECE of pumpkin pie! This pie was really good. We thought it was very creamy and filling; frankly, it would’ve been enough dessert on its own!
The shake itself is super SUPER sweet. It was vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce, but more a syrupy sauce than real caramel. We didn’t love the caramel sauce and we definitely would’ve preferred the real thing.
Overall, we think this is a great treat for kiddos or for those looking for a super-Instagrammable dessert, but for the rest of us, it might be a little too sweet. Still, can we really pass on a dessert with a whole piece of pumpkin pie AND a milkshake involved?
Now, the question is, can we re-create this for Thanksgiving? We totally think we could and it would turn an ordinary pumpkin pie dessert into something truly EPIC! We’ll let you know how our adventures in re-creating this beauty go. We’re on the hunt for ALL things new and delicious around Disney World, so be sure to come back for more updates.
