Although it’s starting to look a lot like Christmas at Disney World, it’s still technically fall, and we are loving all those cozy fall flavors that come with the season.
We’re talking about pumpkin flavors, apple flavors, maple flavors, and all those kinds of things that remind us of cooler weather and falling leaves! And we just discovered three NEW fall-flavored snacks at Disney World!
First up is the Maple Leaf Cookie Sandwich for $4.99. And nothing says autumnal like a colorful leaf, right? The cookies that make up this sandwich are two cinnamon sable cookies. The texture of these guys is soft and chewy, similar to a sugar cookie.
The maple praline buttercream inside the cookie adds a LOT of strong flavor to the sandwich and kept it from feeling dry in our mouth. But although there are praline bits in the icing, we were disappointed they didn’t add a lot of extra crunch. It’s a little dryer than most cookie sandwiches, so if you’re looking for something super sweet and gooey, this is not the snack for you.
Next up? It was the Pumpkin Pie Cake Pop, which is a jumbo pumpkin spice cake pop dipped in white chocolate to resemble a pumpkin with decorative sprinkles. It’s pumpkin spice, so THIS SCREAMS FALL! It’s also VERY photo-worthy. And IT IS GOOD.
Imagine yummy buttercream icing flavored like pumpkin pie — nice, right? The pumpkin spice flavor here is strong (as we like it!), and the cake pop is soft AND gooey on the inside. This is the PERFECT fall treat for pumpkin lovers! It’s like pumpkin pie and cake all in one! The cake pop is $7.99. (FYI, they also still have the Jack Skellington cake pop so you can choose your overlay.)
Then it was time to try the Cinnamon-Apple Almond Tart. This is a cinnamon-spiced frangipane in a sweet tart shell topped with pastry cream, poached apples, and crunchy rice croquant. Like we can’t even with all those wonderful fall flavors! This is basically just a super fancy apple tiny pie!
It’s not overly sweet and the apples (those are the things that look like grapes — they seem to have been pulled from bigger apples with a melon baller) taste like the kind of cinnamony cooked apples you find in apple pie. We didn’t taste much of the almond, although it’s in the dessert’s name. In fact, we think more almond might have improved the overall flavor.
It’s a light dessert that’s not overly sweet, but we’re not sure we’d order it again. However, if you love apple pie, this might very well be the snack for you! The tart is $5.49.
We found these snacks at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. We’ll be trying even more new seasonal snacks, so be sure to check back here often!
