We’re just going to come right out and say it…we LOVE bread.
Whether it be bread service at Sanaa, bread pudding at the Polynesian Resort, or our beloved School Bread in the Norway pavilion, we’re pretty much always down to eat some bread. In fact, we love bread so much that this year, we made a gift guide dedicated to the bread lover in your life! Today we got the chance to try a different kind of bread — a German Christmas bread — and we’re excited to share our thoughts!
Over at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, you can currently order the Miniature Signature Stollen Bread for $9.99
This traditional German Christmas bread contains golden raisins, lemon zest, orange peel, and sliced almonds to give it a fruity, but mostly lemon-forward flavor. The bread itself is pretty dense, which can be good or bad depending on your bread preferences.
The Stollen Bread was a little dry, but it wasn’t too sweet, which is a nice contrast to many of the very sugary holiday treats that Disney has out right now. If you’re craving some carbs but don’t want something that comes piled high with icing, then this might be a great snack for you! However, if you’re not a fan of dried fruit or nuts, then you should probably sit this one out.
All in all, it wasn’t bad, and it was definitely different than what we usually see offered as a Christmas snack at Disney World! We’ll continue trying all the holiday treats we can find, and we’ll be here to give you our photos and honest reviews!
Check Out the Red Velvet Wreath Cupcake, also at the Grand Floridian!
