REVIEW: What Does a Jelly Doughnut Flavored Beer Taste Like? We Found Out in EPCOT!

The EPCOT Festival of the Holidays has officially begun, which means we’re trying out all of the food booths!

L’Chaim Booth

Today, we headed over to the L’Chaim Holiday Kitchen! This booth first appeared at the festival in 2018, and we are glad to have it back for this year!

The L’Chaim Holiday Kitchen offers items like Pastrami on Rye, Smoked Salmon Potato Latke, and a festival highlight, the Blue Cosmo Cocktail. Most of the menu is exactly the same as last year’s menu, so we’re here to see how these items compare to the previous festival!

Food

We’ve pretty much tried all the food here, and we’re big fans of the Pastrami on Rye, which is served with house-made pickles and deli mustard. Just look at that beautifully marbled bread! The sandwich is $5.

The Smoked Salmon Potato Latke made its first appearance here last year! This is a delicious potato pancake with a PILE of smoked salmon and sour cream on top. It’s $5.

And if you just want the Potato Latke with Sour Cream for $3.75, you can get that, too! It’s super yummy and we really don’t think you can go wrong with a crispy potato with sour cream.

Ready for dessert? Try the Sufganiyot for $3.50. These are mini jelly-filled doughnuts, so pretty much, a yummy fruity treat!

The Black and White Cookie for $2.50 is part of the Cookie Stroll once again this year. This honestly isn’t one of our favorite cookies of the stroll, and definitely doesn’t do it for our reviewers who have had the real thing in New York City. It is also way too soft for a traditional NYC Black and White Cookie.

Drinks

This time around, we decided to have a taste of the Shmaltz Brewing Company Jelly Doughnut Pastry Ale. YES, PLEASE?

And you know what? We weren’t sure how a jelly doughnut beer would taste, but IT IS REALLY GOOD. It’s a little spicier than some other beers we’ve tried at the festival, too. We don’t specifically get an actual doughnut taste, but there is a nice sweet afternote after each sip.

The Blue Cosmo Cocktail is back this year, too, for $10. This cocktail is LOADED with vodka and Blue Curaçao, which gives it a super fun blue color! And it’s not super sweet, so it’s a pretty great drink!
