Whether you’re looking for a whole collection of Star Wars holiday pins or some featuring Jack Skellington, there are a LOT of festive Disney pins out there for you to enjoy!
Today we found even more holiday pins, but two of them are a bit…strange.
Can you spot what’s just a little bit off in these holiday pins? We’ll give you a minute.
If you’ve got a very keen eye you’ll notice that the Polynesian ornament pin shows the name of the resort as “Disney’s Polynesian Resort” with the 2020 on the bottom. The problem is, the Resort doesn’t go by this name anymore! A number of years ago, the Resort’s name was actually changed to “Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort,” which was the hotel’s original, opening day name.
If this was an older ornament, we’d understand why the former name would appear. But, considering it has the 2020 stamp on it on the bottom, it is extremely strange that it still has the old name, unless it was made a LONG time ago (like, several YEARS ago) and couldn’t be changed.
Figured out the other pin with a bit of a problem yet? We’ll give you a hint — when was the last time you saw that particular EPCOT logo? It’s been a while, huh?
Disney started using a reimagined EPCOT logo last year after it was announced, along with a TON of other changes coming as part of the EPCOT Transformation, at the 2019 D23 Expo. We’ve seen this new logo on spirit jerseys, other merchandise, and all kinds of spots throughout the park.
Why the older EPCOT logo would be used on this pin is a bit of a mystery to us unless it was designed (and potentially printed) WELL in advance of this change and could not be changed, which is possible.
Still, we thought these pins were a unique find (and so did quite a few guests around us), so if you want to grab some yourself you can head over to Pin Traders in Disney Springs to snatch them up. These pins are $17.99 each. We also spotted some in Disney’s Hollywood Studios today, so you’ll definitely want to be on the lookout for them throughout the parks.
Stay tuned for more holiday merchandise updates and, of course, all the latest and greatest Disney news!
