We’re just ONE day away from stepping onto Buena Vista Street at Disneyland Resort, but recently we made our way around the rest of Downtown Disney to see what’s new!
From adorable holiday decorations to a CRAZY Mickey Mouse Milkshake, come along with us on a virtual trip to Anaheim to see what’s going on at the happiest place on earth.
Downtown Disney Food Updates
Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes
Today, October 18th, is Mickey Mouse’s birthday! There are some special events going on to celebrate the Mouse that started it all, but if you’re looking to celebrate with a sweet treat then you’ll want to check out this EPIC Mickey Mouse Strawberry Shake from Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes. This thing has it all — a milkshake, a Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie treat, red and white rock candy, whipped cream, sprinkles, and, of course, a cherry on top!
But all this awesomeness comes with a HEFTY price tag. This shake will set you back a whole $24! Is this treat worth that high cost? Check out our review to find out!

Downtown Disney Merchandise Updates
World of Disney
Over at World of Disney we found a whole bunch of new things! First, if you’re a big fan of the movie Up, you’ll LOVE the Grape Soda merch we found. There’s a Grape Soda t-shirt for $36.99…
…as well as a Grape Soda pillow for $26.99. All you need is some real grape soda and a bunch of balloons and you could be off on your next adventure!
We’ve spotted the Grape Soda pillow and a different style shirt in Disney World before, but it was great to see some fun Up merchandise over in Disneyland as well.
If you’re planning the perfect outfit for your next trip to the park, or just like to wear Disney hats and Minnie ears at home to bring in some of that magic, you’ll want to check out some of the cool things we spotted! First, we found this cute Minnie Mouse denim baseball hat for $27.99.
It’s simple but totally cute and would match well with almost any outfit!
If you’re looking for something a bit more on the EVIL side though, you’ll LOVE this Hades Headband! Who doesn’t want to have a giant puff of blue “flames” just emerging from the top of their head at all times?!
Seriously, these ears are a sight to behold. We spotted them in Disney World a few days ago, but it seems travel in the Underworld is pretty fast.
Will they give classic Minnie ears a run for their money? We’ll find out! You can snag this headband right now for $29.99.
Click here to see more about the Hades headband!
If you’re in more of a Christmas-y mood, you can grab the Light-up Snowflake Balloon Mickey Ears for $35. These are absolutely gorgeous and will really make you feel like it’s the holidays, even if it’s actually 85 degrees wherever you are.
We’d seen these in Disney World, and they’re even available online, so we were excited to see that they’d made their way to Downtown Disney as well.
Check out more about these ears here!
If you’re celebrating the anniversary of Fantasia, you can grab a pair of these ICONIC Sorcerer Mickey Ears to make some magic happen!
These ears can be yours for $29.99.
Click here to see more about these adorable ears!
It may not be another new pair of Minnie ears, but if you’re a BIG Baby Yoda fan (who isn’t?!), you can stay warm during the winter with this cute Baby Yoda Beanie!
It’ll match perfectly with the HUNDREDS of other Baby Yoda things you own. You can get it right now fo $21.99.
Click here to check out our list of awesome Baby Yoda holiday gifts!
We also found a number of ornaments available at World of Disney that are themed to different Disney attractions. We had seen some of these in Disney World as well, but it was great to see those same ornaments, along with a cool Sleeping Beauty Castle one, in Disneyland. The ornaments we were able to find in Disneyland were the Country Bear Jamboree ornament…
…which features a totally cute inside…
…the Tiki Room ornament…
…again with an amazing interior…
…and the Sleeping Beauty Castle ornament.
The details on the “inside” portion of this ornament are also amazing — just look at that spindle.
Unfortunately, they were sold out of the Haunted Mansion Holiday ornament, but we’ll definitely keep checking back to see if it gets restocked. The ornaments are $29.99 each.
Click here to see more photos of these attraction-based ornaments!
In terms of face masks, we noticed that the regular Disney face masks are still priced at $6. For whatever reason the HUGE face mask price increase we saw in Disney World hasn’t made it over to Disneyland yet, so you’ll definitely want to grab your masks there now in case prices eventually do go up later.
Aside from the regular Disney masks, we also found the festive Disneyland Holiday Face Mask from Spirit Jersey available for $12.99.
We love the simple but sparkly look of this mask. It’s definitely got us feeling holly and jolly!
Click here to see more about this holiday mask and how to get it online!
We’ve been going through a LOT of hand sanitizer lately, so why not make it more magical?! We found a whole bunch of NEW hand sanitizers available for $9.99 each including a Mickey Balloon one…
…a Mickey Ice Cream Cone sanitizer…
…a Small World design…
…and MORE!
To check out ALL of the new hand sanitizer holders we found, check out our full post!
Click here to check them all out!
If you’re looking for some special holiday jewelry, you can also grab the NEW Baublebar holiday collection in World of Disney. We spotted the holiday necklace…
…Christmas lights earrings…
…Gingerbread Man Earrings…
…and more!
We’ve seen this collection online and in Disney World as well, but if you’re a Southern California local, now you can stop by World of Disney to buy some as well.
Click here to see more about all of this new collection!
Walking around Downtown Disney can make you develop quite the thirst. You can make sure you stay hydrated with this adorable “All day everyday” Castle Water Bottle! We’re definitely living that Disney life all day every day and now you can be too!
This water bottle was priced at $22.99.
There was also a Baby Yoda T-shirt available for $29.99 in case you’re still looking to grow your collection!
Or, you could opt for one of these cool retro tees! We saw them in Disney World back in September, but this was the first time we remembered seeing them in Disneyland. There were a bunch of different shirts featuring Minnie Mouse…
…Donald…
…Goofy…
…Mickey…
…Mickey with some seriously vibrant colors (and a few color changes on his hands and shoes)…
…an outlined Mickey Mouse…
…Mickey & Co…
…the whole gang with the words “So Classic”…
…and more of this fabulous group!
These shirts were $26.99 each. Some of them are available online too!
Click here to check out some of these shirts online!
If you’re getting comfy and cozy this holiday season, you can make sure your pajamas are magical too by grabbing these cool Disney Pajama Pants! We found a Mickey Mouse and friends comic book design…
…as well as some pants covered in Emojis!
They’re priced at $44.99 each. We had seen a LOT of pajama pants, shorts, and boxers in Disney World with these same and other designs.
Click here to see the Haunted Mansion boxers and other comfy clothes we found in Disney World!
Special Shopping Event
Disneyland has hosted quite a few exclusive shopping events lately. During our last visit, the shopping event was for LOTS of new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge merchandise, including some of the new items just announced recently during the Star Wars merchandise panel for D23’s Fantastic Worlds events.
We even got to see the NEW Boba Fett Holiday Special Plush, which was available for $22.99.
Too cool!
Click here to see ALL of the Star Wars merchandise we spotted during this intergalactic shopping event!
Backlot Premiere Shop
At the Backlot Premiere Shop, we found some more holiday goodies like this Small World holiday pin set for $19.99…
…where each box comes with an awesome mystery pin!
…and this PRICEY Advent Calendar featuring 24 limited release pins for $245.
It even comes with a cool tree display board for your pins and an awesome set-up where you’ll pull open one of the boxes each day to reveal a new pin.
Click here to buy this advent calendar online!
Pin Traders
At Pin Traders we found a TON of great pins including three Nightmare Before Christmas limited edition holiday pins for $17.99 each. There was one of Jack Skellington and a web…
…Jack in a wreath…
…and Jack standing next to a tree!
We spotted these in Disney World as well.
Click here to see where we found these pins in Disney World!
We also found an “I’m Celebrating National Button Day” pin with Pluto (which strangely actually had a Walt Disney World logo on the bottom?) for $17.99.
We found this cutie in Disney World in early November.
There was also a Thanksgiving 2020 pin for $17.99…
…the 80’s Hair pin set for $24.99…
…the Disney Dance Party pin set for $24.99…
…a Haunted Mansion Ghost Host pin for $9.99…
…Hatbox Ghost pin for $12.99…
…Mansion and Bride pin for $12.99…
…Madame Leota pin for $9.99…
…Haunted Mansion “HM” pin for $9.99…
…and finally a Stitch Mele Kalikimaka pin for $17.99.
Disney Springs Other Updates
In terms of other updates, we noticed that Christmas decorations were up throughout Downtown Disney and the Christmas music was playing!
Click here to see ALL of the holiday decorations in Downtown Disney!
Orange County, California — where Disneyland Resort is located — was recently moved into the Purple Tier under California’s tiered system. Under the purple tier, dining must be moved entirely outdoors and shops are reduced to 25% capacity.
During our last trip to Downtown Disney we noticed that the lines to enter the shops were moving slower than usual. This could be due to these recent changes. We’ll continue to keep tabs on this in the next few weeks.
Well, that’s all for us from Downtown Disney for now! Be sure to come back soon, as we’ll be exploring Buena Vista Street when it opens!
We can’t wait to share our experience with you.
