In celebration of the holidays, we thought it might be fun to take a virtual tour of some of the Walt Disney World resorts’ special decorations. We know that coming to Disney World during the holidays is an annual tradition for many, and that this year might be a bit different. We’re hoping that this helps to reconnect you to a bit of the magic that you may be missing.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort is first up on the resort tour that we’ll be taking over the next few days.
As guests approach the Beach Club, they are welcomed by garland-wrapped light poles. At the Beach Club, the entrance area garland features ornaments in red, blue, gold, and green.
Also woven into the garland are beach-themed trinkets, such as cute red and white beach cottages, and fronds of ornamental beach grass.
As guests enter the front doors from the porte cochere, they are greeted by small Christmas trees to the either side of the entrance to the resort’s lobby. Beach-themed objects are adorn the branches of these little trees.
A grand reveal awaits guests as they step into the lobby. Twin Christmas trees flank either side of the space, and a large holiday-themed floral arrangement sits front and center.
The Christmas trees are aglow in white lights, and all things nautical, as you would guess, cover the tree. You’ll find pieces of ship’s wheels, sailor knot ornaments, starfish, and artificial poinsettias in muted, weathered colors tucked into the branches. Berries, striped ornaments, and coral-colored bows also adorn the trees.
The large floral arrangement (pictured at top) echoes the beach grass found in the garland lining the light poles in front of the resort, and brings in a bit of sparkle through the use of gold and silver glass ornaments.
The hall that leads to the Solarium, guest rooms and the Beach Club Marketplace are flanked by elaborate evergreen swags.
If you stop and take a closer look, you’ll see Nemo and Dory tucked into the swags, as well as the same deep coral/rust colored ribbon used on the trees in the lobby. Small sprigs of coral, peach-colored poinsettias, and icy blue bows remind guests of the resort’s overall theme.
As you take a left and walk into the Solarium, not only are you greeted by a light-filled space, you are also greeted by an adorable Santa-themed Christmas tree.
As Oprah says, “Love is in the details,” and love is in the little Santa-fied touches on this tree. Please take a walk down to the Solarium if you stop by this resort during the holidays. It’s a nice, quiet spot to stop and soak up a little Christmas magic.
The swags hanging near the Solarium’s tree echo the Santa details found on the tree itself. Bold reds are used here in contrast to the muted and weathered tones seen on the trees in the lobby.
The holiday decorations continue into the Beach Club Marketplace, however these decorations use more of an icy silver and blue color palette.
While we’re in the Marketplace, let’s stop and take a peek at the gingerbread carousel kits that are being offered this year. As you may know, while the resort gingerbread displays are not available this year, a couple of the resorts opted to offer at-home versions for guests to purchase. For $45, guests can purchase a kit to create the Yacht and Beach Club’s iconic gingerbread carousel in their very own kitchens.
Several holiday baked treats are also for sale in the Marketplace. From a trio of fudge to a Christmas tree made out of sable cookies to a loaf of traditional German Stollen, it’s all there for your holiday snacking needs.
The Beach Club’s lobby is lovely during the holidays. Evergreen garlands lit with white lights hang from the railings, and the entire space has a special glow.
