It’s the week before Christmas, and we’ve been in the parks checking out the wait times!
This week, despite holiday crowds, many of the average wait times in ALL four parks went down! So we’re taking a look at the average wait times in ALL FOUR PARKS! Let’s check them out and see how the crowds at Disney World affected wait times!
Magic Kingdom
The longest wait in Magic Kingdom was for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with an average wait of 65 minutes.
This time stayed consistent because it was the exact same average last week!

Several other popular attractions had lengthier waits, just not over an hour like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad averaged 47 minutes, Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean averaged 40 minutes, and Jungle Cruise averaged 38 minutes.
See how Disney celebrated 40 years of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!
With average waits of around half an hour, we have Prince Charming Regal Carrousel at 35 and “it’s a small world” at 34 minutes, Astro Orbiter, Peter Pan’s Flight, and Splash Mountain at 32 minutes, and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at 31 minutes.
Even though it was very popular not too long ago, Splash Mountain’s wait times have been down lately. As the weather gets colder, it seems less and less people want to ride a water-based attraction!

Mickey’s PhilharMagic (24 minutes), Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (23 minutes), Haunted Mansion (21 minutes), Barnstormer (18 minutes), and Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid (18 minutes) all had pretty short average wait times!
We also saw shorter wait times at Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, and Carousel of Progress with 11 minutes, Mad Tea Party with 12 minutes, Tomorrowland Speedway with 13 minutes, and Country Bear Jamboree with 14 minutes.
And some attractions continued to have a 0-minute average wait including Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, Enchanted Tiki Room, and Hall of Presidents.
Barely any of the wait times this week went up from last week, and if they did, it was only by a few minutes. This was a little surprising because of the holiday crowds, but Magic Kingdom is still much less crowded than it is in a usual year. If Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is a priority for you, keep in mind that it has consistently had the longest wait time in Magic Kingdom!

EPCOT
EPCOT still had two attractions with average waits at or above an hour, and we weren’t too surprised which ones they were.
The LONGEST average wait in Disney World for the third week in a row was 75 minutes for Frozen Ever After. This average actually went down by 3 minutes compared to last week! Test Track came in second at EPCOT with a 63-minute average.

Soarin’ at 39 minutes, Mission: SPACE at 29 minutes, and Spaceship Earth at 21 minutes all had fairly average wait times this week.
Attractions with shorter wait times in EPCOT included, Journey into Imagination with a 16-minute average, Living with the Land had a 14-minute average, The Seas with Nemo and Friends had a 11-minute average, and Gran Fiesta Tour had an 10-minute wait.
All of the films around EPCOT (Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival, Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, Awesome Planet, Impressions de France, Reflections of China) and American Adventure averaged a 0-minute wait.
EPCOT does not have a lot of attractions like some of the other parks, so the popular attractions tend to have longer waits.

Also, the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays is a HUGE draw for the park, so there may be more crowds than usual for that. That also could be why we’re seeing the longest wait time in Disney World at Frozen Ever After.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
This week, Slinky Dog Dash had a 51-minute average. This is WAAAAY lower than the past few weeks! We were shocked to see the average below an hour, let alone at 51 minutes! This could very well change with next week being a holiday week, but this was pretty surprising.
Reminder: Rise of the Resistance isn’t included since the virtual queue gets rid of traditional wait times.
Rise of the Resistance has changed the boarding group system AGAIN
But Slinky Dog Dash was NOT the longest wait time in Hollywood Studios!
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster came in at 35 minutes, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway came in at 43 minutes, and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Tower of Terror came in at 57 minutes. That’s right! Millenium Falcon AND Tower of Terror had LONGER waits than Slinky Dog Dash! Wow!

The other attractions in Hollywood Studios had waits between 20-30 minutes.
Toy Story Mania, and Muppet*Vision 3D averaged 25 minutes, Alien Swirling Saucers averaged 23 minutes, Star Tours — The Adventures Continue averaged 27 minutes, and Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy averaged 30 minutes.
Because Hollywood Studios is usually one of the more popular parks in Disney World, reservations tend to fill up earlier than any of the other parks. This accounts for the slightly higher wait times on many of the attractions and the fact there are no low averages. Also, Hollywood Studios doesn’t have as many attractions as a park like Magic Kingdom, so rides tend to get congested.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
As usual, the Pandora — Land of Avatar attractions had the longest waits in Animal Kingdom with a 65-minute wait at Flight of Passage and a 54-minute wait at Na’vi River Journey.
We’re still not over the fact that Na’vi River Journey had a longer average than Slink Dog Dash.
Check out the new animals on Kilimanjaro Safaris!
Thrill rides at the park take the next highest category! DINOSAUR had an average of 35 minutes, Kilimanjaro Safaris had an average of 27 minutes, and Expedition Everest and It’s Tough to be a Bug had an average of 20 minutes. Everest was another shocking wait time! This rollercoaster was the lowest time of all the major rollercoasters in Disney World this week. It was the same average as a 3D show!
Coming in with a fairly low wait, Kali River Rapids averaged 12 minutes.
The lowest wait was over in Dinoland U.S.A. at Triceratop Spin with a 6-minute average.
Animal Kingdom does not have very many attractions either and Flight of Passage is still a SUPER popular attraction in Disney World, so it makes sense that it came in at over an hour. Still, it’s totally possible to ride EVERYTHING in Animal Kingdom in one day with these averages wait times!
