In my quest to stay at every resort on Walt Disney World property, the deluxe resort I was least excited about staying at was Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. The theme just didn’t appeal to me. Surprisingly, I enjoyed my stay tremendously and can’t wait to return!

Overall Atmosphere and Theme: Compared to the beautiful blue exterior of Disney’s Beach Club, Disney’s Yacht Club is a very boring gray tone. While the front of the resort is pretty bland, the landscaping is lovely. This resort is expansive with a layout similar to Disney’s Beach Club. The lobby was recently updated and includes a large rug with various maritime items, a massive globe, boat models, and a ship’s helm. That being said, this is not a destination lobby like Wilderness Lodge is for me.

Room: Disney’s Yacht Club portrays the theme of yachts and boating decently well within the rooms. My favorite themed element was the curtains in the room, which are a deep blue with constellations all over them. The paintings and mirror in the room have a nautical theme. While the bathroom doesn’t have any real theme to it, it seems to be recently renovated. I particularly enjoyed the dual shower head with both rainfall and handheld shower heads. The room was spacious and clean with a very nice balcony.

Dining: There is a wide variety of dining options available at Disney’s Yacht Club. Not only do you have Yacht Club restaurants, but you are a short walk away from Beach Club and Boardwalk restaurants as well. We used the mobile order option at The Market at Ale and Compass a couple of times. My husband particularly enjoyed the grilled chicken panini and I had a delicious pumpkin whoopie pie out of the refrigerated case. While we didn’t visit them, Ale & Compass Lounge, Ale & Compass Restaurant, and to go mobile ordering are available. Yacht Club offers a large in-room dining menu also. Beaches and Cream Soda Shop is a very short walk from Yacht Club, as is Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill. You definitely won’t go hungry while staying at Yacht Club!

Pool: Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht Club (which it shares with Beach Club) is the most spectacular pool on property! With its own lazy river, amazing water slide, expansive size, and sandy bottom, it’s no wonder they have a cast member at the gate making sure you are a resort guest at Disney’s Yacht or Beach Club resorts in order to swim there. If you stay at Yacht Club be sure to set aside time to enjoy this amenity!

Transportation: Disney’s Yacht Club has every manner of transportation you could want. You can take a boat or walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The boat dock is right outside of Disney’s Yacht Club. You can also walk to the Skyliner station at Epcot’s International Gateway and travel to Hollywood Studios by gondola. Of course, bus service is also available to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs.

I loved our stay at Yacht Club so much I seriously
considered extending our stay. I can’t wait to stay there again and would recommend
it to anyone! While the hotel theme isn’t exactly my favorite, the flexibility
of transportation, amazing pool, and variety of food options make it one of my
new favorite Walt Disney World resorts!
