Thursday was a whirlwind of Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars news!
During the Disney Investor Day webcast, we learned about a ton of new TV shows and movies, but more importantly, we learned the release dates of some highly-anticipated TV shows and movies!
Let’s take a look at all of the announced release dates and years that were shared at Investor Day. Fair warning…there’s a LOT!!!
2021
Coming to Disney+ in January 2021, Pixar Popcorn is a collection of mini shorts featuring Pixar characters in all-new, bite-size stories created by Pixar’s animators.
WandaVision is set to launch on Disney+ on January 15th, 2021. The anticipated series will expand the MCU!
A comedy-adventure based on a book of the same name, Flora & Ulysses follows 10-year old Flora as she rescues a squirrel with superhero powers! The film is set to premiere on Disney+ on February 19th, 2021.
Disney’s feature film Raya and The Last Dragon will be available on Disney+ with Premier Access, as well as in theaters on March 5th, 2021.
This movie stars Star Wars‘ Kelly Tran and we’re so excited about it!

We’ve been waiting for a release date for the first episode of Marvel’s The Falcon and The Winter Soldier forever, but now we know that it’s arriving on March 19th, 2021.

While the film has received several delays to its release, Black Widow is currently set to open on May 7th, 2021.
A Pixar feature film, Luca, will head to theaters in June 2021. The movie is about the friendship between a boy, Luca, and his best friend, Alberto.
We’re already grabbing the tissues because we bet this one will make us cry!

Based on the popular attraction from the Disney parks, Jungle Cruise is currently set to premiere in July 2021.
Loki is the ultimate Marvel bad boy, but we can’t wait to watch his new series on Disney+. And now we know it starts in May 2021. YES!!!
Loki will be a crime thriller which is realllly intriguing us and we can’t wait to see what this show is all about.

The Marvel animated series What If? asks questions about what might happen to Marvel characters in alternate realities. And it looks like it’s going to be really interesting, especially with a world where Peggy Carter is Captain America. And the series will drop on Disney+ in Summer 2021.
The world will finally get to meet a new Marvel superhero when Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings lands in theaters on July 9th, 2021.
The dog from Pixar’s Up! is getting his own Disney+ series, Dug Days, in Fall 2021. The series will focus on Dug adapting to life as a dog living in suburbia.
We bet there will be squirrels!

We are so STOKED to see Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, finally get her own series! Although she’ll be introduced in Captain Marvel 2, her Disney+ series will arrive in Fall/Winter 2021.
Although we don’t have an EXACT release date yet for the Marvel Hawkeye series, Disney did confirm it was scheduled to arrive on Disney+ in late 2021.
Eternals, another Marvel movie we’ve been wanting to see FOREVER, will finally arrive in theaters on November 5th, 2021. That’s less than a year away! This one has a star-studded cast, including Angeline Jolie, Richard Madden, Salma Hayek, Kit Harrington, Gemma Chan, and more!
The upcoming movie Encanto, which will include music written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, is set to take over theaters in November 24th, 2021.
The movie takes place in Colombia and centers around a magical family who live in a magical home.

Diving into the back story of the titular character (and iconic Disney Villain), Cruella is currently set for a 2021 release.
An animated take on Night at the Museum is heading to Disney+ in 2021.
An all-new animated film, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, will premiere on Disney+ in 2021.
Four new original series are headed to Disney+ by the end of 2021.
- The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, which is a direct sequel to the films.
- Turner & Hooch, a reimagining of the 1989 Tom Hanks movie.
- Big Shot, a series focused on the world of girls’ high school basketball.
- The Mysterious Benedict Society, based on the book series of the same name
2022
The first Walt Disney Animation Studios animated series — Baymax was also announced!
The show will follow Baymax on some adventures in San Fransokyo as he cares for different patients. It was is created by Don Hall, and is set to premiere on Disney+ in early 2022.
Also coming to Disney+ in early 2022 is The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild, a spin-off of the popular “Ice Age” franchise.
A hybrid live-action-animated feature in production for Disney+, Chip N’ Dale: Rescue Rangers is slated for spring 2022.
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness is set to debut on March 25th, 2022. It will connect the events of the WandaVision series and the upcoming Spider-Man film.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to premiere on May 6th, 2022.
Black Panther 2 will open on July 8th, 2022. Marvel Studios will not recast T’Challa, and will honor Chadwick Boseman’s legacy and portrayal of the character.
Coming to Disney+ in Spring 2022, the short-form series Zootopia+ will take a closer look at the lives of some of the characters from the feature film!
Iwájú is an all-new original series coming to Disney+ in 2022. The long-form series is set in Lagos, Nigeria, exploring deep themes of class, innocence, and challenging the status quo.
Lucasfilm is currently in pre-production on the next installment of Indiana Jones, and yes, Harrison Ford will be there to reprise his role!
The newest Indiana Jones movie is scheduled to premiere in July 2022.

Captain Marvel 2 is suiting up once more to save the universe and will fly into theaters on November 11th, 2022. AND she’s bringing some new friends with her, including Ms. Marvel.
Cars stars Lightning McQueen and Mater are racing into Fall 2022 with their own series! They’re going on a cross-country road trip. What could possibly go wrong?
Pixar’s Turning Red will arrive in theaters in 2022, from Domee Shi, who created the short film Bao, which premiered before Incredibles 2.
The movie tells the story of an awkward teen who turns into a red panda when she gets too excited.

Also coming in 2022 is Lightyear, and yes, it’s an origin story all about our favorite Space Ranger, Buzz Lightyear.
And this time, Buzz is voiced by Captain America himself Chris Evans.

Diego Luna will reprise his role as the rebel spy Cassian Andor from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in Andor, set to arrive on Disney+ in 2022!
Set decades after the events of the 1988 film of the same name, Willow will continue the spirit of adventure, heroics, and humor in this new series, set to debut on Disney+ in 2022!
A modern take on the 1980’s comedy, Three Men and a Baby, starring Zac Efron, will premiere on Disney+ in 2022!
A reimagining of the hit comedy, Cheaper by the Dozen is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2022. Gabrielle Union will star in the film which centers on a multiracial, blended family of 12.
We are SO ready for the holidays in 2022 because there’s a Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special coming!
And we only hope we can see Groot decorated like a Christmas tree — for reasons!

2023
Pixar’s first long-form animated series, Win or Lose, is set to arrive on Disney+ in February 2023.
The series follows a middle school softball team in the week leading up to a big championship game.

The long-form musical-comedy series Tiana is coming to Disney+ in 2023. The all-new adventures explore both Maldonia and Tiana’s hometown, New Orleans.
Another long-form musical series coming to Disney+ in 2023 is Moana, The Series which will follow her adventures as she explores beyond the reef.
While few details about the film are currently available, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is slated for a 2023 release.
The next Star Wars movie to land on big screens, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, will arrive on Christmas Day 2023, with Patty Jenkins directing.
The film will tell the story of starfighter pilots in the Rebellion.
