Disney’s Riviera Resort celebrated its first anniversary just last week, and, as it was last year for its first holiday season, the resort is dressed to the nines for the holiday season. Just in case you’re missing your happy place this holiday season, we thought it’d be fun to take a virtual look around. The other day, we virtually toured Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Guests are greeted with holidays decorations as soon as they arrive at the Riviera (pictured at top). Bountiful wreaths hang above the main entrance to the lobby, and, although the poinsettia “trees” aren’t on display under the porte-cochère like they were last year, the wreaths and coordinating swags do the trick at setting a festive tone.

If you look closely at the swags that hang along the walkway to the lobby’s entrance, you’ll start to see hints at the color scheme that will be used throughout the resort’s holiday decorations. Iridescent snowflakes and silver-toned ornaments are tucked into the swags, and gold ribbon is formed into bows.

The lobby’s tree, while smaller than the Christmas trees that you might see at some of the other resorts, fits perfectly with its surroundings in size and scale. The lobby ceiling isn’t as sweeping as other resort lobby ceilings, and the tree mirrors the intimate nature of the Riviera’s space. The ribbons on the tree use the icy blue that will be seen in other decorations, and ornaments in both gold and silver also adorn the tree.

The resort’s shop, La Boutique, is outfitted for the season as well. Full wreaths hang along the top of the walls throughout the store.

The details in the shop’s wreaths are amazing. Bottle brush pine trees, silver-clad floral spikes, shiny glass ornaments and tiny white lights cover them. A glittery fleur de lis hints at the resort’s French roots.

Wreaths that match the ones seen hanging above the lobby’s entrance hang along the massive windows that run across the back of the lobby. These wreaths are lovely, and pick up on the light blue, silver, and gold palette.

The decorations used at the Riviera are sophisticated and definitely lend an air of elegance. The garland running down the railing from the main lobby to the lower level is just incredible.

The garland running down the stairway is filled with ornaments in both shiny and matte finishes that coordinate with the color scheme, as well as small white LED lights, as well as metallic wire ornaments. Could a hidden Mickey be found in the circles on those wire ornaments? Hmmm…

The Riviera’s holiday decorations are in keeping with the elevated and elegant, yet approachable, feel of the resort. Have you been able to visit the resort during its first or second holiday season?
