There’s been lots of news this week surrounding the distribution of the new Pfizer vaccine.
This morning, the first COVID-19 vaccines arrived in California following their recent approval by the FDA. Now, we have an update from California Governor Gavin Newsom about the distribution of vaccines in California.
The region of Southern California has been under a mandated stay-at-home order since December 6th due to minimal ICU capacity. The region has seen a significant spike in cases, with Orange County and Anaheim reaching a record-setting number of daily positive cases last week. Today, Governor Newsom shared an announcement that the state is expecting 393,000 more doses of vaccine next week.
Newsom shares that San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Eureka are among the locations that have received the vaccine today. The locations offering doses of vaccine are expected to increase over the next few days, with as many as 24 more locations having access to the vaccine by tomorrow.
