Theaters or Disney+? Here’s Where You Can See All the 2021 Disney Movies!

As always, Disney has plans to LOAD US UP with new movies next year. With everything from a new Pixar film to a FEW installations in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we have lots to look forward to in 2021.

But, with the global health crisis and Disney’s shift to streaming, some of these flicks are coming to Disney+. We’ll be watching some from our couches, some in the theaters, and we’ll have a choice with others. Here’s where you can see all the 2021 Disney movies!

Flora & Ulysses

The first Disney movie of 2021 will debut on February 19th. Flora & Ulysses is a cute tale about a 10-year-old comic book fan named Flora who rescues a squirrel with superpowers — that’s Ulysses!

©Disney

This flick will debut EXCLUSIVELY on Disney+, so get ready to get settled in your jammies to watch.

Click here to learn more about Flora & Ulysses!

Raya and the Last Dragon

We’re SUPER excited to see Raya and the Last Dragon when it debuts as the latest film from Walt Disney Animation Studios next year. This movie was originally set to release this year but was delayed to March of 2021 due to the global health crisis.

©Disney

Now, Disney has announced that Raya and the Last Dragon will debut on March 5th in theaters AND on Disney+ with the same premier access feature used for the recent live-action Mulan. If the model is kept the same as it was for the Mulan release, Disney+ subscribers will be able to pay $29.99 to watch the film.

Want to see the first look of Raya and the Last Dragon? Click here!

Black Widow

In May, a MUCH anticipated film will finally be released. Black Widow was supposed to premiere in 2020 but saw several delays that pushed it all the way into 2021.

©Marvel

Now, we’ll catch this Avenger origin story on May 7th, presumably in theaters. As a note, Disney has yet to give any mention of this film coming to Disney+, so for now, we’re expecting that it will be released exclusively in theaters. Stay tuned for any updates though!

To see more about this delay, click here!

Cruella

One upcoming film that has been in development for a while is Cruella, telling the origin story of 101 Dalmatians‘ Cruella de Vil. The film features Emma Stone in the titular role telling a villain backstory like never before.

©Disney

Cruella is set to release on May 28th and though Disney has not indicated whether it will release in theaters, on Disney+, or both; we might have an idea of where we’ll be watching this evil glow up. Rotten Tomatoes recently tweeted that the film will be coming to theaters!

Luca

Yay! 2021 is bringing us a new Pixar film! We’re still riding the high of seeing Soul released on Disney+ this Christmas, will the next film get the same treatment?

Luca © Disney/Pixar

Pixar’s upcoming movie is called Luca and is set to release on June 18th! Disney has yet to announce any specifics about the film coming to Disney+, so we might be watching this caper through the Italian Riviera exclusively in theaters.

Want to know more about what to expect from Luca? Click here!

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

The next Marvel movie on the docket is Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. This film, based on the Shang-Chi comics, will debut on July 19th next year.

©Disney | Marvel Studios

As of now, Disney hasn’t said whether this flick will come to theaters, Disney+, or both!

Jungle Cruise

Jungle Cruise was initially set to release in the Summer of 2020 but was delayed due to the global health crisis. We’re super excited for this Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt-led flick based on the punniest Disney attraction around.

©Walt Disney Studios

Though Disney has made no mention as to how this film will be released, we’re expecting that it will release in theaters on July 30th as it is set to be one of Disney’s big summer blockbusters (and since that’s where it was previously set to be released).

Click here to learn more about the Jungle Cruise delay!

The Beatles: Get Back

Disney is also currently working with Peter Jackson on a documentary based on The Beatles. We got to see a sneak peek of The Beatles: Get Back recently and it made us pretty excited about this upcoming flick.

©The Beatles

The documentary will release in theaters on August 27th.

Want to get a glimpse of this film? Click here!

Eternals

And ANOTHER Marvel film is coming (starring some familiar faces from Game of Thrones) — it’s Eternals!

The Eternals @Disney

This flick is set to usher in a new generation of Marvel supers on November 5th. As of now, Disney has made no mention of whether the film will come to theaters or Disney+.

To check out more info from Eternals, click here!

Encanto

We JUST heard about the release of the next Walt Disney Animation Studios film after Raya and the Last Dragon. Encanto will tell the story of a magical family set in Colombia.

©Disney

This film will release on November 24th. This is almost a FULL YEAR from now. If theatrical releases are the norm once again, then we expect we’ll be catching this flick in the theaters but Disney has not specified.

Click here to learn more about Encanto!

Spider-Man: Far From Home Sequel

And our last expected film of 2021 doesn’t even have a name yet! The sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home is set to release on December 17th. Though we’re not sure what this film entails, it fits into the same boat as Encanto. If theatrical releases are normal, we should see it in theaters!

UPDATE: Here’s What We Know About the COVID-19 Vaccine in Florida’s Orange County

Although Disney World is currently open, there are still several health and safety precautions on property due to the global health pandemic.

Cinderella Castle

A couple weeks ago, the first batch of coronavirus vaccines arrived in Florida, and we have continued to look out for updates regarding the vaccine. The FDA recently authorized the Moderna vaccine after the Pfizer vaccine, so we’re giving you the latest update on the vaccine in Florida’s Orange County.

During a conference with Mayor Demings (the mayor of Orange County), we got some more information about the vaccine and how to get it if you live in the area. The first point the mayor brought up is that vaccinations for Orange County residents 65 years of age and over will start tomorrow, December 29th.

Disney World’s Health and Safety Signs

In order to receive the vaccine, an appointment is necessary. Mayor Dyer, the mayor of Orlando, also spoke at the conference and said “it will be several months until all of our residents have access,” and stressed that citizens should continue to take precautions. The Orange County Convention Center is working with the Orange County Health Department and will be open between 8AM-9PM starting tomorrow (save for Thursday — New Year’s Eve — when the location will be open from 8AM – 12 Noon). This site will be closed from January 1st-3rd for the holidays and will reopen on January 4th at 8AM.

New ‘Soul’ Face Masks

Orange County plans to vaccinate 1,500 county residents per day at that site. If you live in Orange County and 65 years or older, you can register to get the vaccine here. Dr. Pino, Director of Florida Department of Health in Orange County, urged people to continue to wear masks even if they have been vaccinated.

Health Signage

Nearly 12,000 people who work in Emergency Medical Services in Orange County have already received the vaccine, and both Mayor Demings and Mayor Dyer got the vaccine right after the conference. If you need any more information about the vaccine, you can visit the Orange County vaccine page on their official website. We will continue to look out for the latest news about the coronavirus vaccine.

This Disney World Resort Lounge is Now Open Through New Year’s!

Disney World continues to open up restaurants throughout the theme parks and resorts.

Territory Lounge Holiday Drinks

Territory Lounge at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge opened up earlier this month when the weather was too cold for Geyser Point (the outdoor lounge and pool bar) to operate. While we did enjoy that little surprise, we can confirm that Territory Lounge will be open through New Year’s!

The lounge will be open from 4PM-10PM every night from now until the New Year! The sign outside used to say “open daily”(which was incorrect), but it has since been updated to say “open until 10PM.”

Territory Lounge

It currently offers a small menu with beer, wine, and specialty holiday cocktails…

Cocktail Menu

…as well as a small bites menu featuring a seasonal bisque, potato chips with ranch dip, a charcuterie board, and apple pie a la mode!

Small Bites Menu

There are several tables that are spread out and a few that are marked as unavailable to guests. Guests can order from the bar if they are grabbing drinks to-go, otherwise a server will come to your table, and guests are encouraged not to roam around the lounge.

Territory Lounge

So if you are visiting Disney’s Wilderness Lodge between now and the New Year, check out this fun lounge!

Territory Lounge

We tried a couple of the holiday drinks on our last visit and were pretty impressed. This is a great spot to grab a quick bite or drink to-go, and we are glad to see this place hoppin’ again, even if only for a limited time! Hopefully after this limited run we will see this place open up when the weather is chilly outside. We’ll continue to keep you updated on the latest Disney restaurant reopenings!
