Party Like It’s 2021 at the Walt Disney World Resort this New Year’s Eve

Well, while it won’t be like a normal New Year’s Eve celebration, Guests will still be able to ring in 2021 at the Walt Disney World Resort, just this year they will need to do it in a physically distant kind of way. (And I mean where they are physically distanced from the theme parks!) That’s because as we ring in 2021, Guests will find that the parks and Disney Springs will not be open late on New Year’s Eve. Instead the parks will be closing prior to midnight, simply to help follow health and safety protocols. In addition, there definitely won’t be the party atmosphere that we’ve come to expect over recent years; ringing in 2021 at Walt Disney World will definitely be more subdued than the past.

The hours of operations for New Year’s Eve are as follows:

Magic Kingdom: 8:00 am – 11:00 pm
Epcot: 10:00 am – 10:00 pm
Disney’s Hollywood Studios: 9:00 am – 9:00 pm
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park: 7:00 am – 8:00 pm
Disney Springs: 10:00 am – 11:00 pm

For those staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, they will be offering festive New Year’s Eve activities at the hotels, however full details will be provided upon arrival, not ahead of time.

For those who want to catch some fireworks to ring in the new year, you can still catch them, but they will be pre-recorded fireworks, as well as other holiday offerings that will be available to stream on in-room televisions.

Truthfully, I think this will be one year that people will be more than willing to say goodbye to (I know I’m certainly ready to kiss this year goodbye). No matter how you decide to celebrate, do so responsibly. As for me….I will enjoy saying goodbye to 2020 in my pajamas from the comfort of my couch. Seems like as good of a place as any!
