REVIEW! Is Tomorrowland Terrace the BEST Fast Food in Magic Kingdom Now??

Many reopened Disney restaurants have opened with slightly different menus or a completely new menu. But we have yet to see a restaurant serving up SEVERAL items from another closed restaurant in the park — until now!

Tomorrowland Terrace Reopening

Sure, you can grab Ronto Wraps or Chesire Cat Tails in a new place now, but we’re looking at Tomorrowland Terrace because it seems to be serving up quite a few old favorites from Columbia Harbour HouseThe restaurant just reopened today with this new menu, and we had to see how it compared to the original.

Let’s see if the food stayed just as good while it made the long and treacherous journey across the hub from Liberty Square to Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom!

Atmosphere

Tomorrowland Terrace is located right between Main Street, U.S.A. and Tomorrowland. From certain parts of the restaurant, you can snag gorgeous views of Cinderella Castle (like the table that we scored today, but more on that in a sec).

Tomorrowland Terrace

This spot has been strangely utilized for a number of years. Recently, it has sat empty much of the time, only in use as a quick service spot at peak times, like Spring Break. It is also the home base for Magic Kingdom’s firework dessert parties when they were happening before the closure. Each night, the area would be closed off to just the guests enjoying a dessert party.

To enter the restaurant, we first had to place our order on Mobile OrderThis is a must for most Disney World restaurants right now to avoid crowding within the restaurants. You can order your meal from the My Disney Experience app, customize it, and pay, then wait til your order is ready. There were signboards at the entrance advertising the menu.

We also noticed that the tables were spread out and some had markings that told guests they could not sit there. Remember, all seating is open-air so depending on the weather you could be hot or cold (we were chilly!). Still, outdoor seating is preferred by lots of folks due to the current health situation! Some tables are covered like the ones seen below, but a handful of tables are located out on the terrace.

Seating Area

When your order is ready, you’ll be told which station to go pick your food up.

Pick-up Stations

We were wondering whether the Relaxation Station would still be available here and it is! This spot was previously in use as one of the stations where guests could safely remove their masks. The lower level, castle-side seating is separate from the restaurant and still designated as a no-mask rest area.

Relaxation Station

We noticed it was roped off from the other areas as well.

Remember how we mentioned that castle view? We weren’t kidding! This is what we were looking at from our table.

Magic Kingdom

We even spotted the Disney Princess Character Cavalcade go by at one point!

Pretty views all around us, it’s time to tuck into our seafood feast! Let’s talk about the fooood!

Eats

Before the Disney park closures, the menu looked like your average American food menu with burgers, chicken tenders, and salads. But now, the menu has gotten a full makeover, yet it looks very familiar! They are now offering several menu items from Columbia Harbour House’s menu! That location is still closed so we were excited to see that menu somewhere else, but we were hoping it’s just as good!

On this (not so) new menu, you can snag the fan-favorite combo platters, entrees including a Lobster Roll, Fried Shrimp and Fish, Chicken Nuggets, and a plant-based salad option.

There are a number of sides ranging from salads to french fries to hushpuppies.

The kids’ meals look pretty similar to the adult options, just with a smaller portion.

There are a few dessert options, and most of them involve ice cream or a soy-based frozen dessert. We did spy the yummy Minnie Mouse Chocolate Chip Lava Cookie that was at Columbia Harbour House prior to the closures!

And beverages are very standard with juices, lemonade, coffee, tea, and soft drinks.

We were pretty pumped to get to choose some of our favorites from Columbia Harbour House, so it was hard to decide! But ultimately we decided to grab the Trio Platter and the Lobster Roll (plus that Minnie Mouse Lava Cookie, OBV). Brace yourself — a lot of fried food is coming! 🙂

Spread

The Trio Platter consists of fried shrimp, fried fish, and chicken breast nuggets served with hushpuppies and either french fries or a Cuties mandarin.

Trio Platter

The fish was our favorite; it was a nicely cooked white filet. We wouldn’t say it was AS good as the fried fish in EPCOT’s U.K. Pavilion’s Yorkshire County Fish Shop, but close! The batter is a wet batter, like Yorkshires, so it comes out extra crispy. The chicken was standard Disney nuggets (meaning: yummy and still good!) and the shrimp was good too but nothing special flavor-wise. We liked it all and appreciated the variety, but we might just get the fish next time.

Trio Platter

This platter is $13.99.

Trio Platter

The Lobster Roll is $15.99 and is made of chilled lobster with mayonnaise on a New England-style bun and served with french fries. We promise there’s bread hiding under that MONSTER lettuce leaf. Look at that big boy!

Lobster Roll

This thing comes with TONS of lobster and it’s all piled up in that beautiful, buttery center-split grilled roll. Yes, it is delicious.

Lobster Roll

We loved the refreshing crunch from the lettuce, and plenty of celery and onion were mixed with the lobster.

Lobster Roll

We thought the bread to lobster ratio might be a liiiiiittle high on the bread side but it was still delish!

Breeeead

As far as sides go, we couldn’t pass up the Hushpuppies!

Hushpuppies

These guys have full corn kernels in them! They’ve got just a touch of sweetness to them too. We loved ’em! We got a hushpuppy with our Trio Platter but one hushpuppy is never enough! A side order of these is $4.49.

Hushpuppies

You know we weren’t leaving without trying a dessert, so we went with the Minnie Mouse Chocolate Chip Lava Cookie for $4.49.

Minnie Mouse Chocolate Chip Lava Cookie

This treat has LOTS of warm, fudgy chocolate inside the cookie. It’s very cute and DEF shareable. That bow is colored white chocolate, so feel free to chomp down on Minnie’s favorite accessory!

So, how does a reopened Tomorrowland Terrace fare overall?

Nosh or Not

You might want to dine at Tomorrowland Terrace if…

  • You miss Columbia Harbour House! This is your only bet for seafood in Magic Kingdom right now and a nice alternative to the burgers and Mexican fare found elsewhere in the park right now.
  • You need a quick bite. The spot did just open, but we got in, got our food and ate it very quickly.
  • You are on a budget. You get a large portion here for a decent price. This food is majorly sharable, making it even more affordable!

You might NOT want to dine at Tomorrowland Terrace if…

  • You don’t like the idea of an open-air restaurant, especially in the winter months ahead when there’s a chill in the air.
  • You are looking for an extra magical atmosphere. Tomorrowland Terrace has a killer view, but the restaurant itself is very bare-bones.
  • You don’t like seafood. While you can nab some chicken nuggets here, there’s not much else in the meat department.

Overall

We had a really nice lunch at Tomorrowland Terrace today! We’re usually big fans of Columbia Harbour House so getting to eat the food once again was a win in our book. Honestly, this is probably our top spot in Magic Kingdom now as far as quick-service goes. It’s got a great menu that seafood fans and kids alike will enjoy. Plus, it’s got the added bonus of TONS of outdoor seating, which is the preferred way to chow nowadays.

We might say skip if you’re concerned about the temperature outdoors or if you’re looking for a more classic item like a burger. Otherwise, this meal just might be the PERFECT stop to get your lunch or dinner on in Magic Kingdom! We may not have the warmth (both literally and decoratively) over at Columbia Harbour House here, but the food is really quite good and a nice alternative to the other (limited) options in Magic Kingdom right now!
