REVIEW: This New Slushy At Disney World Says PUCKER UP!

We’ve been at the Morocco Pavilion at Disney World, watching things beginning to open back up!

Morocco Pavilion

The pavilion recently closed temporarily to prepare for Disney to take over its operation from its previous operating partners. But this weekend has seen the reopening of one of its gift shops, as well as the reopening of Spice Road Table.

But there have been a few other changes, too. When we popped by Morocco Coffee & Pastries, we noticed a new drink on the beverages menu — a Frozen Citrus Pomegranate Slushy. This is a pre-mixed slushy that you can get for $5.50 or you can choose to add Absolut Mandarin Vodka for $15.

We opted for the non-alcoholic version. And that first sip HIT US HARD. Like this thing is TART. It was like having Shocker Candy in liquid form. This drink made our faces scrunch up so much that we think maybe it was a little TOO tart, although if you love sour things, you’ll likely enjoy this!

This is one of those drinks that needs something to cut the tartness a bit — possibly even ice cream. It’s also possible that the version with vodka is toned down a little bit. But seriously, if you love things that make your face pucker, this is the drink for you!

On our visit, we also discovered a TON of new cookies and pastries in the case here, like this Sesame Koulouria, which is a butter-based cookie. Mmmm…. butter.

Saragli is a rolled version of baklava. YUM.

But you can get a traditional Pistachio Baklava, too. This has been around the Morocco Pavilion for years.

Melomakarona is a Greek Christmas Honey Cookie — sounds sweet, quite literally! They’re traditionally scented with orange and cinnamon. That sounds divine!

Koulouria is a traditional Greek butter cookie, but these are Marble Koulouria, which means they are butter cookies swirled with chocolate. YES!

Kataifi is similar to baklava, as far as ingredients go, but it’s got this cool spaghetti-like look to it! The pastry dough is made into thin strands that make it look like pasta.

Flogeres are sweet cheese Phyllo rolls and these even have chocolate drizzled on them!

These almond cookies are called Ergolavos, and are a traditional Greek cookie!

Fekkas are traditionally made with walnuts and raisins, but these are Anise Fekkas, so they’ve got anise in them, too. And there’s that chocolate drizzle again!

We love the shape of these cookies and their name is exactly what they are: Almond Crescent Cookies!

Almond Briwat is a sweet puff pastry with almonds. It looks so flaky and yummy.

Pastries are 1 for $2.50, 3 for $6.50, 5 for $11, and 7 for $15. Well just take one of each, please! Seriously, we’ll come back to try some of these at some point and let you know what we think!
