It’s a very chilly day in Florida today, so we’re taking advantage of the cold and pulling out all our cute Disney sweaters and beanies for that wintry look!
Today, as we made our way around Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we were also craving something to drink that would keep us warm and toasty, so we stopped by Ronto Roasters and were FINALLY able to try some of the NEW and very elusive Spiced Surabat Cider that we had been trying to find for quite a while!
About a week ago we noticed the addition of the new Spiced Surabat Cider and Spiked Spiced Surabat Cider to the online menu for Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, but when we checked the restaurant’s Mobile Order offerings, we couldn’t find it! We spoke to a citizen of Batuu (a Cast Member) a few days ago and they said that the plan was essentially to have this drink available on cooler nights. Well, today is DEFINITELY a cool day so we were really happy to FINALLY find this item available in Galaxy’s Edge!
We still couldn’t find it on the Mobile Order menu for Docking Bay 7 today, but we did see it on the Online Menu AND Mobile Order Menu for Ronto Roasters, so that’s where we stopped by today to grab some!
The Spiced Surabat Cider is made up of Hot Apple Cider with notes of Hickory Smoke and Winter Spices. It’s available for $3.79. Or, you can opt for a Spiked version for $13 that contains Maker’s Mark Bourbon. We went for the non-alcoholic version this trip.
This drink was really nice and warm on a cold day! It was also very spicy, but not hot or peppery. You could really taste the flavors of the spices put in this drink — particularly cinnamon and nutmeg.
The Spiced Surabat Cider also had chunks of fresh apples in it which we totally LOVED! It really added to the taste of the drink overall.
The portion size we got was also pretty large, which we really liked. It means you can have even more of the drink to sip on and keep you warm. The design on the cup, while not holiday-themed or seasonal, was also kinda cool.
We’d really be interested to see what the spiked one would taste like. Gives us a good reason to go back and try it again in the future! Overall, we think this drink would be great for anyone who loves hot apple cider or hot tea and is looking for something to warm them up in the cold weather.
If you don’t like apple, cinnamon, or nutmeg, then this drink is something you should probably skip! You could opt for a hot chocolate, hot coffee, or regular hot tea somewhere else in the park instead. Or, since you’re in Galaxy’s Edge, you could try some blue or green milk just to say you did (although those won’t exactly keep you warm)!
Disney World is officially celebrating the holiday season, so we’re on the lookout for any other exciting seasonal offerings. We’ll let you know if we spot anything new and give you our thoughts on whether it’s something you should try!
