We’re back with this week’s Disney construction updates!
We’ve been in the parks and all around Disney World this week so we noticed a few changes to the ongoing construction! Let’s take a look at the projects going on at some of the resorts, parks, and Disney Springs!
Magic Kingdom
Train Station
This week, we noticed some scrim in place on both sides of the Main Street Railroad Station that all guests can see when first entering the park.
The scrim can be seen when facing the station from outside the park and when looking at it from Main Street.
This is definitely a different type of greeting than we’re used to when entering the park.
We noticed the brown scrim on the back of the train station last week, but the addition of the expansive scrim at the front of the station appeared a few days later.
You definitely can’t miss this gigantic wall covering the train station.
The train station has been closed for nearly two years, but we’re not sure what’s going on behind these walls right now. But, if we find out we’ll be sure to let you know!
See more photos of the scrim at the Train Station here!
Rivers of America
Rivers of America is undergoing construction while Tom Sawyer Island and The Liberty Square Riverboat are being refurbished.
Refurbishment for these attractions is still on track to continue through February 28th.
As of this week, the river is still totally drained and some new track is being installed so the Riverboat will have a smoother ride.
Check out some of the new track that’s been installed along the freshly flattened riverbed.
We’ll be sure to share any updates about the refurbishment of these attractions!

TRON Lightcycle Run
This upcoming TRON coaster is really coming together! We’ve been keeping a close eye on construction taking shape and it looks like the basic structure of the canopy is pretty much intact!
September marked the beginning of this canopy’s installation and it looks seriously impressive (even though it’s still in progress)!
We can’t wait to zip around on this track!
Work certainly looks to be continuing here, with lots of scaffolding and machinery operating on site. We’re looking forward to more progress!
We’ve noticed lots of continued progress to this attraction and we hope it’s still on track to open in October of 2021!

Fantasyland Railroad Station
The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed since 2018, in preparation for the construction of TRON Lightcycle Run. It appears that the track near the Fantasyland Station has been completely removed during this process.
Hopefully, we’ll see this train back up and running once the TRON Coaster is completed!
The Walt Disney World Railroad is a fun and relaxing way to get around Magic Kingdom, we’re looking forward to its eventual reopening!

EPCOT
There are so many new and exciting things coming to EPCOT in the next year or so, but we didn’t notice too many updates this week.
Here’s the new stuff that we did spot!
Future World
We tried to see any updates made to the new fountain that’s placed near the main entrance to the park. We could hear some water flowing, but it’s pretty hard to see right now.
The sneak peeks that we’ve seen of this fountain make us think it’ll be a stunning addition to the entrance of EPCOT, so we’re really looking forward to it’s reveal.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
We’ve been loving all the early looks we’ve been getting into this attraction — Baby Groot even took a spin in one of the new ride vehicles. This week we noticed some wood paneling had been installed on the roof.
This continued progress makes us hopeful that this attraction is still set to open in 2021.
New wood paneling can be seen on the right side of the roof.
With the new Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special coming to Disney+, we’re getting even more excited to see the Guardians IRL.

Space 220
We’re still awaiting news about the opening of this immersive, space-themed restaurant. We haven’t noticed much to be new over here, and the sign of this restaurant is still covered.
There’s a wall surrounding the area as well.
We’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we hear any news about this restaurant!
Take a look inside Space 220!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Not much has changed at this new building on the safari since last week, but we’re really impressed with all its furnishings!
We’re waiting on finding out what the official purpose of this spot is, but that’s okay, we’re happy to check out the new baby giraffes in the meantime!
Check out the updated queue video for Kilimanjaro Safaris!
Disney Springs
Everglazed Donuts and Cold Brew
We’re very ready for the opening of this donut and coffee spot coming to Disney Springs. The small wall that once blocked this side of the building is now gone! We spotted some work being done when we passed by.
Last week, we saw construction crews moving in and out of the shop and today we even got a little peek inside the doors!! You can see a counter set up inside!
There’s still definitely work being done inside, but we were pumped to get this little sneak peek!

Gideon’s Bakehouse
Yay!! We noticed some changes to the construction at Gideon’s Bakehouse, the future home of lots of delicious cookies. Check out the windows that have been installed.
We noticed that the door had been installed last week, and today we spotted someone working on it.
Its projected 2020 opening is becoming more and more questionable as the year gets closer to coming to an end.
Check out some of the HUGE Cake Slices We Might Find at Gideon’s Bakehouse!
M&M’s Store
Following the delay of the new M&M’s Store opening at Disney Springs, it looks like progress is underway! The pegs on the side of this building are positioned in circle shapes…for M&M decor maybe?
Not much looks too different at the moment!
This sweet spot is expected to open in 2021!
Here’s a look into the upcoming M&M’s Store!
Disney World Resorts
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
This resort is undergoing extensive refurbishments, which will incorporate themes from Moana!
We noticed more beams installed at the top of this building in comparison to when we checked on it last week.
Here’s a side view of the crossbeams!
This well-loved resort is going to feel even more tropical once these refurbishments are finished!
Check out some of the new merch we spotted at the Polynesian Resort!
General Construction
Walt Disney World Entrance Sign
The entrance sign is one of the many Disney World icons that’s had a makeover this year. This sign was decorated with some regal-looking gold flags!
And Donald looks just about finished, too! The Mickey heads behind him have been painted, and the gold portions of the sign have been painted.
It looks like they’re adding the finishing touches to these signs!
See some of the step-by-step progress to this sign!
It’s not news that there are LOTS of projects going on at Disney World right now, so surely we’ll be back next week with more updates! Stay tuned!
