Well….Disney has made it even easier for me to spend my money thanks to the, now testing, Merchandise Mobile Checkout at the Walt Disney World Resort. So, just what is this new and helpful tool? Well, at select Walt Disney World merchandise locations, Guests will be able to scan items while shopping and check out simply by using their mobile device!

Guests will find shopping bags in the store designated to be used for the Merchandise Mobile Checkout option. Then while shopping, they will be able to scan the items they would like to purchase and add them to the specific bag.

When you are all finished shopping, you simply tap the “Check Out” button and you’ll be able to pay by using your phone. The good news, all of your applicable discounts will already be taken into account! Guests will be able to pay using a Disney gift card, Disney Rewards Redemption Card, or their credit or debit card. From there, you tap purchase, and voila! You’ve bought your items!

Upon leaving the store, you will need to show the QR code that appears once you purchase your items to a Cast Member as you exit.

It’s never been easier to buy merchandise at Walt Disney World and it can all be done in this COVID world, while interacting with as few Cast Members as possible.

Currently right now, Mouse Gear at EPCOT is the only store that is offering this Merchandise Mobile Checkout option while it is in testing mode. I suspect that this will be rolled out to the major stores in the parks sooner, rather than later.
