We had a GREAT week in Disney World!
It’s the week after a holiday week and we’re wondering just how busy Disney World was. All of the parks hit capacity last Friday, and again this weekend, but we’re taking a look at the average wait times in ALL FOUR PARKS this week!
Magic Kingdom
The longest wait in Magic Kingdom was for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with an average wait of 68 minutes.
Several iconic attractions had lengthier waits, if not over an hour like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad averaged 49 minutes, Splash Mountain averaged 45 minutes, Space Mountain averaged 42 minutes, Jungle Cruise averaged 39 minutes, and Pirates of the Caribbean averaged 38 minutes.
With average waits of around half an hour, we have Prince Charming Regal Carrousel and “it’s a small world” at 34 minutes, Astro Orbiter and Peter Pan’s Flight at 32 minutes, and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at 30 minutes.
Mickey’s PhilharMagic (23 minutes), Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (22 minutes), Haunted Mansion (21 minutes), Barnstormer (19 minutes), and Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid (17 minutes) all had relatively short average wait times!
Similarly, we saw short wait times at Dumbo the Flying Elephant with 12 minutes, Magic Carpets of Aladdin with 12 minutes, Tomorrowland Speedway with 12 minutes, Country Bear Jamboree with 12 minutes, Mad Tea Party with 11 minutes, and Carousel of Progress with 10 minutes.
And, believe it or not, some attractions had a 0 minute average including Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, Enchanted Tiki Room, and Hall of Presidents.
We are coming up on the peak of the holiday season in a reopened Disney World. Some wait times are spiking due to the crowds, but Magic Kingdom is still DRASTICALLY less crowded than it is in a typical year due to the capacity limitations. If you’re headed to the park right at open next week, we recommend heading right to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train!

EPCOT
EPCOT had two attractions that had average waits of above an hour — and we weren’t too surprised which ones they were. The LONGEST average wait in Disney World was 79 minutes for Frozen Ever After and Test Track came in with a 61-minute average.
Soarin’ at 37 minutes, Mission: SPACE at 26 minutes, and Spaceship Earth at 19 minutes all had fairly middle-of-the-road average wait times this week.
On the shorter end of the spectrum in EPCOT, Journey into Imagination had a 15-minute average, Living with the Land had a 12-minute average, The Seas with Nemo and Friends had a 9-minute average, and Gran Fiesta Tour had an 8-minute wait.
All of the films (Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival, Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, Awesome Planet, Impressions de France, Reflections of China) and American Adventure all averaged a 0-minute wait.
EPCOT does not have as many attractions as some of the other parks, so the popular attractions tend to have looooong waits. On top of that, it’s the first full week of the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays which is a big draw for the park. That could be why we’re seeing such long wait times at Frozen Ever After.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Another of the longest waits in Disney World was over at Slinky Dog Dash with a 70-minute average. Of course, Rise of the Resistance isn’t included since the virtual queue gets rid of traditional wait times.
But Slinky Dog Dash isn’t the only attraction in this park with lengthy waits. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster came in at 52 minutes, Tower of Terror came in at 50 minutes, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run came in at 46 minutes, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway came in at 40 minutes.
The rest of the attractions in Hollywood Studios had waits around 20 minutes. Toy Story Mania averaged 24 minutes, Star Tours — The Adventures Continue averaged 23 minutes, Alien Swirling Saucers averaged 22 minutes, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy averaged 21 minutes, and Muppet*Vision 3D averaged 20 minutes.
As we’ve seen from Disney Park Pass reservations, Hollywood Studios is the MOST popular park in a reopened Disney World with reservations filling up earlier than any of the other parks. This accounts for the slightly higher wait times on many of the attractions and the fact there are no VERY low averages.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
As usual, the Pandora — Land of Avatar attractions had the longest waits in Animal Kingdom with a 66-minute wait at Avatar Flight of Passage and a 47-minute wait at Na’vi River Journey.
Thrill rides take the next highest category! Expedition Everest had an average of 36 minutes and DINOSAUR had an average of 28 minutes.
Coming in on the around-20-minute mark, Kilimanjaro Safaris averaged 21 minutes, Kali River Rapids averaged 19 minutes, and It’s Tough to Be a Bug averaged 17 minutes.
The lowest wait was over in Dinoland U.S.A. at Triceratop Spin with a 5-minute average.
Animal Kingdom does not have very many attractions and Flight of Passage is one of the most wildly popular attractions in Disney World, so it makes sense that it came in at more than an hour. Still, it’s MORE than possible to ride everything in Animal Kingdom in one day with these averages!
