The Walt Disney World Railroad Queue is Poppin’ Even Though the Ride Has Been Closed for Two Years!

With the holiday season in full swing, some areas of the parks have been noticeably busy!

And since guests are being asked to maintain distance between parties in queues, the lines for some attractions have stretched out pretty long! In fact, the line for one Magic Kingdom ride got so long today, guests had the chance to get up-close-and-personal with an attraction that has been closed for over two years!

The Walt Disney World Railroad has not been operating since December 2018, when it was temporarily closed due to construction on the new TRON Lightcycle Run attraction.

But today, guests had the chance to visit the Walt Disney World Railroad’s Frontierland train station queue before boarding a different (and much wilder!) railroad…Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, to be exact!

Line for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

This morning, the line for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was so long that it was routed through the queue for the Walt Disney World Railroad Frontierland station to allow for extra space.

The posted wait time was 60 minutes, which isn’t unheard of, especially during the busy holiday season.

But with the social distancing markers throughout the queues, lines now stretch farther back which has led to some rerouting — occasionally though closed attractions or restaurants!
