Due to the complexity of hosting an in-person race weekend during the pandemic, the decision has been made to transition the 2021 runDisney Star Wars Rival Run Weekend into a virtual event. When the race weekend returns in 2022, it will have a different theme as that will be reimagined in the days ahead.

Participants who had already registered for the race will have the option to request a full refund. Refunds will be issued in the same manner they were paid (original form of payment). Those who do wish to participate virtually can convert their registration to the virtual event through runDisney.com. Runners will receive a medal for each distance run, and will also be able to request a race shirt. According to the information sent out by runDisney, those who have registered will receive an email with further instructions before December 18th, 2020.

Those who had not previously registered for Rival Run Weekend but would now like to register for the virtual race may do so beginning Tuesday, December 15th at 10am.

All charitable contributions will still be issued to Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida, and will not be refunded.

2021 Star Wars Rival Run Weekend Virtual Race Options

All registered participants with a valid U.S. shipping address for the 2021 Star Wars Rival Run Weekend at Walt Disney World Resort who purchased their registrations on runDisney.com will have the option to participate in a virtual race. Please note PO Boxes and APO Boxes are not considered valid shipping addresses for this purpose. Participants who select this option will receive the following based on their registration(s):

• Race distance medal(s)
• Option of event tech shirt(s)
• Digital Bib and finisher certificate
• Digital Toolkit including start/finish line and mile markers
• Digital Goody Bag
• Virtual playlist
• A Digital Disney Gift Card for select races

Guests with a U.S. mailing address who already have received a refund for their registration may still register to participate in the virtual race option by registering at runDisney.com beginning December 15, 2020 at 10 a.m. ET.
