Disneyland to Serve as COVID-19 Vaccination ‘Super Site’

The first large COVID-19 vaccination site in Orange County, CA will be housed at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim according to an announcement made late Monday.

Designated as a “point-of-dispensing” site, or a “Super POD,” each of the five locations in the county will have the capability of vaccinating thousands of people daily according to a news release.

Chairman of the O.C. Board of Supervisors Andrew Do stated,

The Disneyland Resort, the largest employer in the heart of Orange County, has stepped up to host the county’s first Super POD site – undertaking a monumental task in our vaccination distribution process.

The county is still in the process of finalizing other “Super POD” locations and will announce them as agreements are finalized. The county is hoping to provide multiple vaccine administration points throughout the area to increase efficiency, officials said.

“Coronavirus has brought both a public health crisis and economic devastation,” said Anaheim Mayor Harry Sidhu in a written statement. “With this super site, we will begin to overcome both.”
