Last year, the global health crisis shut down all Disney Parks, including Tokyo Disney Resort, which includes two theme parks: Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.
Both parks reopened last summer, and eventually, some entertainment resumed, including character meet and greets, and nighttime parades and fireworks.
However, Japan has seen a massive surge in COVID-19 cases and recently announced a ban on non-resident foreign travelers coming into the country. Shortly after that, Tokyo Disney Resort announced it would reduce hours at its parks to comply with guidance from local health authorities. Now, the resort is suspending its nightly fireworks shows.
According to the Tokyo Disney Resort website, the Disney Light The Night rireworks show will suspend operations as of January 8th. The resort’s nighttime parade Tokyo Disney’s Electrical Parade Dreamlights, remains suspended, along with many of its other shows.
We will continue to monitor the situation and report on any updates we find out about.
