Universal Studios is home to some of the most amazing outdoor parks in Orlando, and for a good reason. From Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, and Universal Studios itself, whether you go to just one or all, you won’t fail to have an amazing time. In Universal Studios itself, our favorite place to go is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley! We do have a fair share of things we love about Universal, but we are here to share our top 5 favorite things to do in Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida, and we give you our reasonings for choosing these things to do (these are not in a specific order). Join us as we talk about our top 5 favorite things to do in Diagon Alley, below!
1. DRAGON SELFIE
Starting off at number 1 is by starting the day off by taking a Dragon Selfie. The very first thing you see once entering Diagon Alley is the enormous Dragon on top of Gringotts Bank. You may or may not know but this Dragon actually breathes fire. The way you can tell when she’s about to do it is when she starts to growl, followed by a pause and then another bigger growl and then she breathes fire! Now you know when she’s about to breathe fire so you can get your camera ready and get that perfect Dragon Selfie.
2. INTERACTIVE WAND SPOTS
Coming in at number 2, Diagon Alley has its own interactive wand spots where you can be your very own wizard in the Wizarding World. The first thing you need to start your Interactive Wand experience, is first purchase a wand from a store in Diagon Alley. Once you have your wand, start looking for the markings (image above) on the ground all throughout Diagon Alley. Upon purchase of your very own wand, comes with a map that displays each interactive wand spot in Diagon Alley. Once you’ve found one of these special markings, it will tell you the movement to make and the words to say. The one we stopped at had a glowing diamond in the window where there were stars and constellations, the constellations came to life and started battling each other. Each stop you make as a Wizard there will be different movements and sayings that you will have to do that will make certain things come to life!
3. CELESTINA WARBECK STAGE SHOW
Bringing us into number 3, we love to watch Celestina Warback’s Stage Show. All though Diagon Alley has multiple stage shows such as The Tale of Beedle the Bard which is a cool puppet show but the one we absolutely have to watch everytime we come to Diagon Alley is Celestina Warbeck. She sings original songs and in the holiday season she does a holiday show which is amazing, Celestina is fantastic and you can’t miss one of her shows.
4. BUTTER BEER FLOAT
Coming closer to an end, we bring you into number 4 with a food item. This is not particularly on any menus so we had to compromise and come up with something amazing. We call this the Butter Beer Float, this concoction is where you take a Butterbeer Icecream and a cold Butterbeer then mix them together. This is a little bit of work, but trust us it’s amazing. We believe this is the best way to eat butterbeer!
5. KNOCKTURN ALLEY
Finishing off our Top 5 favorite things to do in Diagon Alley, coming in at number 1 is located at the front of Diagon Alley and it’s Knockturn Alley! This corner of the wizarding world they call Knockturn Alley is a shopping center but more of a walk-through attraction. You can’t miss this amazing section of the Wizarding World; it’s perpetually dark and foreboding. Throughout Knockturn Alley they also have Interactive Wand spots where you can cast your magic. This area is very interesting to take a walk through and we love coming here every time we’re in Diagon Alley.
