Disney World Resorts are stunningly designed, excellently themed, and some of them have pretty luxurious accommodations.

We’ve got a lot of advice to share for those choosing where to stay in Disney World. But what if you want to stay somewhere a little EXTRA? Disney has you covered! Today we’re sharing our choices for the most ridiculously awesome hotel rooms in Disney World. 

The Polynesian Villa Bora Bora Bungalows

Ever see those photos of those over-water bungalows in the real Polynesian with crystal clear aqua water surrounding them? Disney replicated that at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort but instead of picture-perfect water, you’ll be overlooking Cinderella Castle, Magic Kingdom, and Seven Seas Lagoon!

These rooms start at over $2000 a night (more specifically, between $2744 and $4976 a night), and offer a level of luxury that many of us don’t typically experience on a Disney World hotel stay! They were added on to the Polynesian with the addition of Disney Vacation Club rooms at the resort back in 2015.

These over-the-water buildings can sleep up to 8 people, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living/dining/kitchen area, and a private back deck with a plunge pool. Honestly, we’re not really sure why there’s a plunge pool instead of a hot tub — a hot tub would be so much cooler/functional, right?

The inside of these places are pretty stunning though. The details in the craftsmanship and artwork really helps sell the Polynesian vibe, and we’d feel pretty relaxed staying in a place like this. Plus, the view can’t be beat — just take a look out that window! All the bungalows are situated down on the water with full views of the Magic Kingdom.

Even though the price is enough to make us gasp, the Polynesian Bungalows are still pretty high on our list of “dream stays”.

Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs

With a homey and rustic theme located in the relaxing woodland area of Walt Disney World Resort, the Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs are a charming piece of Disney history. These villas originally debuted in 1975 as part of a Lake Buena Vista community that never came to fruition (this is the area that is now Disney Springs!). They were later used as International College Program housing, then remodeled in 2009 and opened as a Disney Vacation Club property. 

The octagonal-shaped buildings can house up to 9 people, with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living/dining/kitchen area, and a porch, all elevated off the ground to give the “treehouse” feel.

The prices on a 2021 stay in the Treehouse Villas range from $927-$1749 per night, so you may want to get together with some friends and split this one. These buildings are located further away from the hustle and bustle of Disney World, so if you’re looking for a quiet place to unwind, these may be the perfect choice! (Plus, how often do you get to stay in a TREEHOUSE?!)

Character Rooms

Art of Animation Themed Rooms and Suites

One of the most affordable options for special themed rooms at Walt Disney World is to get a character room! Disney’s Art of Animation Resort specializes in these with Little Mermaid-themed standard rooms and suites themed to The Lion King, Cars, or Finding Nemo.

This whole resort is practically exploding with fun themed decor and colors that carry on right into the rooms. Larger-than-life icons and specially themed pools and play areas are big draws of Disney’s Art of Animation, so it’s a great choice for families.

There are so many fun details in these rooms, from the ocean-based color scheme and art in the Finding Nemo suites to the toolbox dressers and traffic cone lamps in the Cars suites.

The Little Mermaid rooms are the cheapest, starting at $167 on select nights in January and going up to $320 a night for the week after Christmas. The suites have much more space and can hold up to six guests so they’re more expensive, ranging from $380 to $746 per night.

Your kids will adore seeing their favorite characters in their Disney hotel room — this could be a really fun surprise when you arrive!

Port Orleans Resort Royal Guest Rooms

Over at Port Orleans — Riverside, little princes and princesses can sleep like royalty in the Royal Guest Rooms.

With photos of Disney princesses on the wall and touches from their movies scattered throughout the room’s decor, there are so many Easter eggs to find in these hotel rooms! In 2o20, the prices for these rooms ranged from $304 to $449 per night, with an extra cost for a Royal Guest Room with an upgraded view. The resort hasn’t yet reopened, so we’re not sure what the prices will be like in 2021.

One of our favorite touches? The headboards light up with fireworks! After a busy day in the parks, you’ll feel like you’re being pampered when you come back to this classy place at night!

Caribbean Beach Resort Pirate Rooms

For the swashbuckling heroes out there, a pirate-themed hotel room probably sounds like a grand adventure, and that’s exactly what you’ll find at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort!

As one of the more affordable options on this list, these rooms run $280-$414 per night in 2021. There are nautical details throughout the room, such as headboards shaped like masts and barrels for nightstands. 

This room is perfect for telling stories of daring swordfights and ocean-crossing expeditions after a long day in a Disney World theme park!

Savanna View Rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge

If you’re looking for a resort stay that’s more exotic, try staying in a Savanna View room at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. This resort is attached to an African savanna, with a variety of animals roaming around outside, like zebras, giraffes, impala, ostriches, and more! Guests can book a room with a “savanna view”, meaning that you’ll be able to sit on your balcony and watch the wildlife. It’s about as close as you can get to staying IN Disney’s Animal Kingdom park!

These rooms are a special “view” category, so they cost more than typical rooms at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Their pricing can range anywhere from the $500s to the $800s (for a standard room), depending on travel dates and which section of the resort you stay in. Booking one of these rooms during a time when discounts are available can save a lot of money! In fact, there’s currently a discount for 2021 that will allow you to save 35% on the price of your room!

Keep in mind that the animals may not always be visible during your stay. They roam pretty freely, so they may be more active at certain times of the day. And those who want to stay here but don’t want to pay for the upgraded room can take advantage of the many savanna-viewing areas around the resort, or grab a meal at Sanaa, where you can snag a savanna-view table in the restaurant.

Presidential and VP Suites

If you’re looking for something similar to a traditional hotel room stay, but with a LOT more space and a LOT more luxury, then consider checking out the Presidential and VP Suites at various Walt Disney World Resorts. That is, if you have a lot of extra cash to spend! These rooms are BIG (about as large as many average-sized houses!) and they have incredibly luxurious features, which makes their prices pretty hefty.

The Presidential Suite at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is located on the 14th floor, just below California Grill. It’s not over-the-top Disney themed like some other resort rooms, but it has 5 balconies with spectacular views of Disney’s Magic Kingdom! This room will cost you anywhere from $1900-$2800 PER NIGHT, depending on the season.

You’ll find another spectacular suite over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge — Jambo House, the Royal Asante Presidential Suite. It’s 2115 square feet and sleeps 6 adults, so everyone gets plenty of space! It features authentic African art, natural wood and stone elements, and spectacular savanna views. The price to stay here starts at around $2400 per night, so even split 6 ways, that’s still $400 a night per person!

You’ll find more Presidential or Vice Presidential Suites at the Beach Club, Polynesian, BoardWalk Inn, and Coronado Springs Resorts. The cheapest of these suites is at Coronado Springs, where the pricing for the room starts at $1250 per night, but the average price for a Presidential or Vice Presidential suite in Disney World is about $2000 a night.

If you’ve got some money burning a hole in your pocket or you’ve got a large group looking for a hotel room that makes you feel like a celebrity, then maybe take a glance at one of these suites. At the Grand Floridian you can even stay in the same suite Princess Diana and her boys stayed in years ago! FAN. CY.

These rooms are fully furnished, decorated to the extent of most people’s homes, and often have spectacular views of Disney World property, so we can definitely understand why a stay here would be tempting!

3 Bedroom Grand Villas

Speaking of spacious accommodations, the 3 Bedroom Grand Villas at various Disney Vacation Club properties can sleep up to 12 people! These rooms typically come with 3 bedrooms, 3 (or more) bathrooms, a (very large) full-sized kitchen, living area, dining area, and a balcony. 

Just like several of the other places on our list, the materials used in this rooms are over-the-top and well-themed to their individual resorts. You’ll find 3 Bedroom Villas at a whole host of DVC properties, but you can score villas with special views (theme park, lake, or savanna view) at Bay Lake Tower, Animal Kingdom Lodge — Kidani Village, Animal Kingdom Lodge — Jambo House, and the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. 

With a stay at one of these rooms, your family will be living in the lap of luxury while also having plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have their own space. Just look at how massive this bathroom is!

These rooms are available first for DVC members to book, so they’re pretty difficult to score and pricing is not readily available to the public (unless you call Disney to book for a specific date). In the past, the cheapest 3 Bedroom Grand Villa at Disney’s Old Key West started at $1500 a night, and the most expensive 3 Bedroom Grand Villa at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa was priced all the way to $4689. On average, you’ll spend about $2500-$3000 per night, depending on the time of year and which resort you choose.

If you’re a DVC member, you’ll spend the least amount of points at Old Key West, where the 3 Bedroom Grand Villas start at 47 points a night. This is significantly cheaper than at the Grand Floridian, where the prices start at 112 points per night.

The Cabins at Copper Creek Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

As far as luxury stays at Disney World goes, this option definitely makes the list. The Cascade Cabins sleep up to 8 people, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a MASSIVE living/dining/kitchen area, and a private screened porch with hot tub! (YEAH! Doesn’t THAT sound amazing?!)

But high-end, spacious accommodations like this don’t come at a small price. The cheapest night you can book to stay in these for 2021 is $2089, and the most expensive night will cost you $3972. When your wallet starts hurting, just think about the spectacular view you’d have from your personal hot tub.

These cabins really combine the best of both worlds: a luxe and relaxing mountain cabin retreat with a thrilling vacation to Walt Disney World. These cabins are basically Wilderness Lodge’s version of the Polynesian Bungalows, but with a rustic twist!

Cinderella Castle Suite

The last room on our list isn’t actually a room that you can pay for…in fact, you’ll have to be invited or win a contest to even stay here. That’s right, it’s the Cinderella Castle Suite!

This space was originally built to be a suite for Walt Disney and his family, but since Walt passed away before the completion of Disney World, the apartment was never finished, and eventually turned into office space. In 2006 for the “Year of A Million Dreams” celebration, the Cinderella Castle Suite was finished as we know it today! That year gave many guests the chance to win a stay here, and since then, this has been Disney World’s most exclusive room.

Features here include accommodations for 6 people, a 24-hour concierge, a “magic mirror” TV, an antique limestone fireplace, stained glass windows, and a Jacuzzi tub complete with starry sky overhead. There is one way that guests can pay to visit this room — by adding it as an option to the customizable World of Dreams Tour. However, the tour costs $12,000, and guests won’t get to stay the night, just take a look.
