It’s been slow as molasses recently at Walt Disney World, but today saw a slight uptick in average posted wait times. While wait times picked up, something else fell flat at EPCOT (read on to learn more). Magic Kingdom had a busier day than it’s hard in a while, landing at 15 out of the past 30 days for average posted wait time. We received 132 actual wait times from our Liners, thank you! At EPCOT our team observed _ out of 500 guests wearing their mask in accordance with Disney’s guidelines – that’s 97%. Let’s do the numbers.

Magic Kingdom Wait Times

Today’s average posted wait times rank right in the middle for the past 30 days. The actual wait times observed were about 70% off the posted wait times.

Pirates of the Caribbean had an average wait time today of 43 minutes. Its 7-day average is 36 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. Its 30-day average is 43 minutes, so today ranks #12 for the past month. We received 6 actual wait times today, and the actual wait averaged 80% of the posted wait time.

Space Mountain had an average wait time today of 35 minutes. Its 7-day average is 28 minutes, so today ranks #2 for this week. Its 30-day average is 42 minutes, so today ranks #18 for the past month. We received 5 actual wait times today, and the actual wait averaged 48% of the posted wait time.

Splash Mountain had an average wait time today of 35 minutes. Its 7-day average is 29 minutes, so today ranks #2 for this week. Its 30-day average is 43 minutes, so today ranks #20 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 50 minutes, so today ranks #160 for the past year.

The Haunted Mansion had an average wait time today of 22 minutes. Its 7-day average is 16 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Carboard Caballeros had an average wait time today of 5 minutes. Its 7-day average is 8 minutes, so today ranks #6 for this week. Its 30-day average is 8 minutes, so today ranks #25 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 10 minutes, so today ranks #230 for the past year.

In case you missed it, the finale scene of Gran Fiesta Tour has been having trouble with its animatronics for quite a while. These animatronics are old, originally from the long-gone Mickey Mouse Revue attraction. Donald has been missing in action for a few weeks, and now all three caballeros animatronics are gone. They’ve been replaced by flat cutouts. It’s strange considering the animatronics are not originally part of this ride. They were installed in 2015 and prior to that this scene contained a screen with an animated clip of the three characters.

Journey Into Imagination With Figment had an average wait time today of 5 minutes. Its 7-day average is 13 minutes, so today ranks #6 for this week. Its 30-day average is 13 minutes, so today ranks #30 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 14 minutes, so today ranks #244 for the past year.

Soarin’ had an average wait time today of 17 minutes. Its 7-day average is 22 minutes, so today ranks #4 for this week. Its 30-day average is 32 minutes, so today ranks #23 for the past month. We received 4 actual wait times today, and the actual wait averaged 93% of the posted wait time.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Wait Times

Hollywood Studios posted wait times do make it look decently busy, but then when you see that Rise of the Resistance did not start accepting boarding groups until 10:30 a.m. it paints a different picture. Any time there is a big delay or issue at Rise there is a disturbance in the Force throughout all of Studios, causing wait times practically everywhere to increase.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Mariachi Cobre had an average wait time today of 30 minutes. Its 7-day average is 30 minutes, so today ranks #2 for this week. Its 30-day average is 39 minutes, so today ranks #18 for the past month. We received 6 actual wait times today, and the actual wait averaged 49% of the posted wait time.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror had an average wait time today of 45 minutes. Its 7-day average is 47 minutes, so today ranks #4 for this week. Its 30-day average is 58 minutes, so today ranks #23 for the past month. We received 6 actual wait times today, and the actual wait averaged 75% of the posted wait time.

Rise of the Resistance needed more than the Force to be with it this morning. Boarding groups were not accepted until 10:30 a.m. Once things started running it has not been too bad, but boarding groups are at the lower end of pace for the past 7 days.
