Bye 2020 and hello 2021! I think many of us were happy to let the last year fade into the past once the clock struck midnight last night. As Disney says, there’s a great big beautiful tomorrow and I think that we can all say 2021 HAS to be better than 2020, right? Maybe? (I’m gonna be optimistic!)
So, with all that being said, I wanted to share some of the most impactful articles from the past year. So, let’s dive right in!
What We’re Talking About – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors
It’s been a crazy year, with California not allowing and theme parks to reopen and it still may be a while. And while some Cast Members are being rehired, it was still a huge loss to lose so many this year, due to the pandemic.
The biggest good news from Disney this past year had to come from the Disney Investor Day. If you aren’t excited for the slate of upcoming Disney movies and TV shows…..well, I mean, you should be! Honestly, I want to know, what you’re most excited about. I really don’t think I can pick one, but if I had to choose, Hocus Pocus 2 is definitely at the top of my list.
This summer we were all singing “Wait For It,” “Alexander Hamilton,” and “Satisfied” as Hamilton hit Disney+ and millions were able to finally see this hard to get into musical. I know I was among those who had the soundtrack on repeat, after viewing it for the first time on Disney+.
Another huge story from this year was all about Black Lives Matter and I want to reshare what Len said earlier this year.
Of course, this isn’t a happy story….but a sad one. I would be remiss not to mention it as it was so impactful for 2020. The loss of Chadwick Boseman was so huge. I’m still so amazed at all he did while he was so sick. His perseverance and determination is something I will learn a lot from, as we move into 2021.
Finally, Universal gave us a sneak preview of their Super Nintendo World which is opening in Japan, but we are supposed to be getting a version in both California and Orlando. If what we get looks anything like this….it’s going to be insane!
