10 Times You HATED What You Ate in Disney World

We do a lot of talking about Disney food — and that includes the good, the bad, and the ugly.

School Bread

Of course, we’re not the only ones who have strong opinions about Disney World eats. So, we turned to YOU to see what food is maybe not so good. We asked our readers if they have ever eaten anything they HATED in Disney World. Here are ten of the most popular responses!

1. Plant-based Jackfruit Options

First up, lots of readers sent in the plant-based jackfruit and beyond meat options. Although Disney does tend to be pretty thoughtful about plant-based options, jackfruit just doesn’t hasn’t been cutting it as a meat substitute in our opinion — and yours too apparently. Plus, beyond meat can be kind of hit or miss.

Plant-based Holiday Pot Pie

Specifically, readers noted a Vegan Jackfruit Gyro, a Vegan Hot Dog with Jackfruit BBQ Topping in EPCOT, and the Vegan Sloppy Joe at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. We saw a lot of the word “disgusting” and the puke emoji. 🤢

2. Poor Unfortunate Soul Float

This next one actually divided our team! The Poor Unfortunate Souls Float had two iterations. The first used black raspberry soft serve and the second used cream cheese soft serve. Version One was universally disliked by our reporters, but that cream cheese had some reporters swooning and others wanting to run into the distance.

You guys though? It looks like some of you hated it. Readers noted, though the float was cute and you “tried so hard to like it,” that “it didn’t taste like cream cheese at all” and ultimately was “just not it.”

3. Turkey Leg

Perhaps this doesn’t surprise many of you, but the Turkey Leg definitely made this list. In fact, it was probably the MOST responded answer. One reader even said, “We all know this is going to be filled with turkey leg answers. And they’re right.”

Turkey Leg

Lots of folks pointed out how greasy these legs are and some mentioned they can be super dry. Some of you have an issue with the fact that it doesn’t taste much like turkey saying it has flavors more like “a terribly boiled hot dog,” “bacon,” and “ham.”

4. Be Our Guest Restaurant Options

This next one is a little bit broader. We actually got a lot of responses referencing various meals and items at Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom. We get it! This spot is wonderfully themed after Beast’s Castle from Beauty and the Beast but the food has left us wanting the past.

Be Our Guest

Lots of folks sent in complaints about the entire meal, saying things like it was “so nasty I can’t bring myself to consider it again.” Some specific items brought issues too like the escargot, green beans, and even the Grey Stuff!

5. Standard Pizza

The standard pizza at Disney World is one of the most basic things you can pick up at a variety of locations. Still, whether you’re snagging a slice from the BoardWalk Pizza Window, Pinocchio Village Haus, PizzeRizzo, or the All-Star Movies Food Court; you might not be impressed — like many of our readers!

Pepperoni Pizza

Some of our readers noted of the pizza that “it’s all terrible,” called it “just awful,” and even said, “It tastes like Little Caesers.” We can’t say we totally disagree but there are SOME places to find good pizza in Disney World!

6. Tony’s Town Square Restaurant Options

We’ve got another one that was a whole restaurant we saw a lot in the submissions! Apparently, Tony’s Town Square restaurant hasn’t been impressive recently. In fact, we recently had a disappointing (and SALTY) meal at this Magic Kingdom spot.

Indoor Sunroom

Readers specifically noted that some dishes there, like the Spaghetti and Sausage, were super salty and watery. One reader narrowed it down saying that the tomato sauce is the big issue, especially since it’s on everything.

7. Blue and Green Milk

Alright, this one has definitely come up before, even on our list of gross things you SHOULD eat, but a lot of you had some bad experiences with the Blue and Green Milk in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Traditional Green Milk and Blue Milk

One reader noted that they full out gagged while another simply said, “Never again.” Some of you explained that the milks certainly make for a nice picture, but you just couldn’t get in on the craze. We get it! These sips are pretty weird!

8. Caramel Ginger Ice Cream

This item is a little under the radar and perhaps one that you’ve never tried in Disney World. Could that be a good thing? According to some readers, yes! The Caramel Ginger Ice Cream available at Lotus Blossom Cafe has some haters. Interesting!

This China Pavilion dessert in EPCOT is an odd combination of flavors. When we tried it, we found that they were a little overpowering and it seems our readers agree. We had several folks mention this very specific treat as a HATED food.

9. School Bread

We’ve got another controversial one! School Bread in EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion is a fan-favorite for many. In fact, people get pretty mad when it goes away and excited when it comes back. Some folks don’t love it though.

School Bread — Inside

Readers said things like, “Did not like it at all!” and “I am really not a fan.” Lots spoke to the fact that it may be overrated and has some not-so-tasty flavors. A few even mentioned that they couldn’t finish it or get the taste out of their mouths for hours. See if you love it or hate it at Kringla Bakeri og Kafe!

10. Spring Roll Cart Spring Rolls

Finally, it seems a lot of you hate a snack that’s near and dear to our hearts at DFB — the Adventureland Spring Roll Cart Spring Rolls. This definitely surprised us! We love the cheesy, greasy, delicious flavors of these snacks. Still, like we mentioned, some Disney foods aren’t for everyone including things that might be our favorites.

Spring Rolls from Magic Kingdom

Specifically, many of you mentioned hating the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls and the Pepperoni Pizza Spring Rolls saying, “#GREASE,” “I’m sorry but NO!” and “The inside was just a greasy slurry.” Readers also noted they don’t understand the cult following. Well, more spring rolls for us then!

We guess we’re not the only ones with strong feelings about Disney food! Hey, every Disney eat isn’t for everyone — and that’s totally okay. Follow us on Instagram at @DisneyFoodBlog if you want to share your thoughts for a future post!
