If you’re in speed touring mode you might miss one of the Magic Kingdom’s most charming features – the miniature character statues that ring the hub.
To find these tiny delights, head to the center of the park, with the castle in front of you. Look for two fenced in areas filled with fountains and flowers.
At intervals along the fence, you’ll find a series of statues of classic Disney characters, each no more than a foot tall. They’re the kind of blink-and-you’ll-miss-it detail that elevates the Disney parks from ordinary to extraordinary. They don’t have to be there, but rather serve as a charming detail designed simply to make you smile.
The characters represented include: Goofy, Chip & Dale, Pluto, Dumbo (topped by Timothy Mouse), Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pinocchio (with Jiminy Cricket), and Br’er Rabbit (though I imagine that he’ll be replaced in the not too distance future).
Have you noticed these before? Which is your favorite?
