Welcome back to Downtown Disney, where some commotion has been happening in recent weeks! Since Southern California’s stay-at-home order was lifted, dining has returned, and soon there will be a ticketed event INSIDE California Adventure!!
But before we can get to that, we have to recap what we’ve seen lately at Disneyland’s shopping and dining district. Let’s jump in!
Downtown Disney Food Update
Starbucks
Since our last visit, one of the two Starbucks located in Downtown Disney has reopened! Since Southern California came out of its regional stay-at-home order, eating and drinking have been able to return to Downtown.
At this time, only the Starbucks next to World of Disney is open. The other Starbucks, located next to the LEGO Store, remains closed at this time.
La Brea Bakery
In addition to Starbucks reopening this week, La Brea Bakery has reopened, too! It welcomed back guests on February 17th.
Most table service restaurants at this point have reopened across Downtown Disney. The one major restaurant we have yet to hear a reopening announcement for is Splitsville. In addition, Catal has been unable to open due to Orange County’s current status in the purple tier, which only allows for outdoor dining at this time.

Trolley Treats
Over at Trolley Treats, we came across a few new Snacks With Character goodies! We spotted a couple of versions on our last visit to Downtown, and since then we’ve also seen these pop up in Disney World! We spotted the Cinnamon Swirl Mini Rice Crisps for $5.49…
…Chocolate Chip Cookies for $6.99…
…and Lemon Burst Cookies for $6.99!
All of the Snacks With Character packaged treats are gluten-free! Be on the lookout for these at Trolley Treats along Buena Vista Street.

Downtown Disney Merchandise Update
Star Wars Trading Post
The big story of our most recent trip to Downtown Disney was the first day of Legacy Passholder previews for the new Star Wars Trading Post!
The shop moved into the former location of Rainforest Cafe. At this time, only the front gift shop space is being used for the Trading Post. However, what Disney Imagineers were able to do with the space is incredible! While this shop isn’t located on Batuu or in the Galaxy’s Edge universe or timeline, this is DEFINITELY the closest we’ve felt visiting Black Spire Outpost at Disneyland in nearly a year!
We wouldn’t blame you, however, for feeling like you were somehow magically transported to the marketplace on Batuu. This store is FILLED with souvenirs from Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge that we haven’t been able to shop for since March of 2020, as well as general Star Wars merchandise. Seriously, you can tell a lot of thought and care was put into this new Trading Post.
We even spotted a familiar hover pram from The Mandalorian! Unfortunately, there was no Baby Yoda inside.
The shop opens to the general public on Friday, February 19th. WonderGround Gallery is expected to reopen with unique art souvenirs soon.

For a complete outfit, you can pick up these matching blue leggings for $39.99.
There was more apparel where that came from — we also spotted a couple more baseball tees! The first is a white tee featuring Minnie Mouse…
…and on the back, the number 55 is prominently displayed for Disneyland’s opening year, 1955! It retails for $59.99.
We also spotted this Pizza Planet baseball tee! The front features the Pizza Planet logo…
…and the back has the number 95 for the year Toy Story first came out in theaters, 1995! This baseball tee also retails for $59.99.
And of course you’ll need some new kicks to go with all this new clothing! Luckily, the new Disney x Native shoes have arrived to Downtown Disney! There were two colors available for kids, red…
…and white! The kids Native shoes retail for $44.99.
There were two colors available in adult sizes as well, in red…
…and black! The adult Native shoes retail for $54.99.
Also new to Downtown Disney recently is this Sleeping Beauty Castle cookie jar! We snagged a few photos of the Cinderella Castle cookie jar over at Disney World, so we were thrilled when we spotted the west coast version appear, too!
The cookie jar is available at World of Disney for $55.00.

The frame will hold 4″x6″ and 5″x7″ photos and it retail for $24.99.

Backlot Premiere Shop
Backlot Premiere Shop, which originally opened as additional shopping space to accommodate guests while Orange County operates their retail at limited capacity, has been rotating their selections seasonally. When the shop first opened, it was filled with Halloween merchandise, and was soon after replaced by holiday merchandise. Now, the shop is offering more park-specific and even attraction-specific merchandise! On our most recent visit, we spotted souvenirs from Grizzly River Run…
…Soarin’, including this tumbler we found for $19.99…
…Indiana Jones…
…and an assortment of Tomorrowland attractions, like Space Mountain and PeopleMover!
We also found an assortment of new pins at the Backlot Premiere Shop. We found a new Haunted Mansion jumbo pin that glows in the dark for $29.99.
We also found a Windows of Main Street U.S.A. pin, featuring the Railroad Office!
When you open the window, you’ll spot Mickey Mouse inside! This pin retails for $19.99.
We also found the new Magic in the Stars pin, featuring Hunchback of Notre Dame. It’s available at Backlot Premiere Shop for $19.99.
We also found the next pin in Where Fantasy Grows, A Disney Terrarium Series! This pin features Pascal from Tangled and retails for $19.99.
We weren’t done browsing the stores quite yet, so we headed out of Backlot Premiere Shop to continue our visit around Buena Vista Street!

The second one features one of our favorite Disney dogs, Zero! It says “Full of Spirit” and also retails for $24.99.
We also found the new collection of Princess autograph pins, recently spotted in Disney World! The collection includes Moana…
…Ariel…
…Cinderella…
…Aurora…
…Belle…
…and Rapunzel!
Each of the princess autograph pins retails for $12.99.

That’ll do it for another roundup of what’s new in Downtown Disney! We’ll be honest, this is the first time in quite a WHILE that there has been something truly “new” to discover, and we can’t stop talking about how impressed we were with the Star Wars Trading Post! Be sure to continue to follow along as we continue our coverage at the Disneyland Resort — we should have tons of exciting content soon when it comes to this California Adventure ticketed event!
