Presidents’ Day week has started off with crowds near their month-long peaks at all four Walt Disney World parks today. The Magic Kingdom and EPCOT have seen their highest average posted wait times of the past month today, while Animal Kingdom’s wait times were the second highest of the past month, and Hollywood Studios wait times were third highest. The good news – if we can call it that – is that EPCOT’s posted wait times were more than double the actual waits we measured.
We received 124 actual wait times today from our fabulous Lines community. And we counted 487 of 500 guests (97%) in Hollywood Studios wearing masks according to Disney’s guidelines. Let’s do the rest of the numbers!
Magic Kingdom Wait Times
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad had an average wait time today of 67 minutes. Its 7-day average is 48 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. Its 30-day average is 43 minutes, so today ranks #1 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 46 minutes, so today ranks #20 for the past year. We received 8 actual wait times today, and the actual wait averaged 55% of the posted wait time.
Animal Kingdom Wait Times
Animal Kingdom’s posted wait times were overinflated today – actual wait times we measured were only about 60% of the posted waits. As an example, Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain had an average wait time today of 43 minutes. Its 7-day average is 21 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. We received 6 actual wait times today, and the actual wait averaged just 49% of the posted wait time.
Hollywood Studios Wait Times
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway had an average wait time today of 52 minutes. Its 7-day average is 45 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. Its 30-day average is 41 minutes, so today ranks #1 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 61 minutes, so today ranks #125 for the past year. We received 6 actual wait times today, and the actual wait averaged 58% of the posted wait time.
Rise of the Resistance is having an excellent day of operations! Rise of the Resistance started calling boarding groups around 9:15 a.m., about fifteen minutes after park opening, and about 45 minutes after it normally starts running. But Rise has run consistently all day without interruption. Rise should be able to call around 145 boarding groups today at its current pace.
EPCOT Wait Times
EPCOT’s posted wait times were more than double the actual waits we measured today. Journey Into Imagination With Figment had an average wait time today of 31 minutes. Its 7-day average is 13 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. Its 30-day average is 11 minutes, so today ranks #1 for the past month. We received 6 actual wait times today, and the actual wait averaged only 32% of the posted wait time.
