The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is currently slated to welcome Disney Vacation Club Members once again beginning May 2. This is the second attempt at reopening this resort for Disney Vacation Club Members. The first time was back in December, but rising COVID numbers caused the reopening to halt. Right now, during the initial phase, The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will only be open for DVC Members.
This will be a reopening that keeps in mind the guidance of government and local health authorities, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in addition to the U.S. Travel Association and the Disney team of health professionals. Promoting health and safety for Guests and Cast Members is a top priority for the hotel. In addition, during the initial reopening period, most resort dining, amenities, activities and services are limited in capacity or will be unavailable based on physical distancing and health guidelines.
Keep in mind that the other Disney hotels at the Disneyland Resort, the Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and the rest of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will remain closed and will reopen at a later date.
Also, of note is that Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure will remain closed and will reopen at a later date, pending state and local government approvals. The Downtown Disney District and parts of Buena Vista Street have reopened and offer a variety of shopping and dining experiences. Keep in mind that there are health and safety measures, for Guests visiting the Downtown Disney District and Buena Vista Street.
