The rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine has begun across the country. Now, as folks wait for when and where they can get the vaccine, Facebook is announcing several new features to aid this process.

In an announcement from Facebook Head of Health Kang-Xing Jin, the company indicated that they will be running the “largest worldwide campaign to promote authoritative information about COVID-19 vaccines” in the coming weeks.

One piece of the campaign will be a function on Facebook that will help people find where and when they can get vaccinated. The site will feature links to local ministry of health websites so that people can understand when they’re eligible for the vaccine and how to get vaccinated.

Facebook is also giving $120 million in ad credits to health ministries, NGOs, and UN agencies to help them reach billions of people around the world with information on the COVID vaccine and more preventive health information. The COVID-19 Information Center that is currently featured on Facebook will also be expanding to Instagram.

Finally, the statement notes that the company will be expanding efforts to remove false claims about COVID and vaccines on their platforms and their efforts to inform effective vaccine delivery and educational efforts.
