Disney World Updates Policy for Face Coverings in Restaurants

Walt Disney World has again updated their face covering policy for guests visiting their dining locations.

The changed wording, first noted by Brooke Geiger McDonald, now states that face coverings “…can only be removed while actively eating or drinking. Face coverings must be worn while standing, waiting or sitting in dining locations.”

This wording, which shifts away from the initial policy that stated that “masks may be removed when seated while eating or drinking,” leads one to think that guests must now, even when seated at a table for a meal, wear a face covering if not eating or drinking at that moment.

If additional information or clarification is made available, we will be sure to update this story.

NEWS: A New Mask Policy Will Make Dining at Disney VERY Different

Disney World has made many updates to its mask requirements since reopening last summer.

Face Mask Signs

The parks have strictly upheld their face mask policies to promote safety for all guests and Cast Members in line with health guidelines. Masks must be worn at all times, except when stationary for eating and drinking. Now, there’s been a change regarding face mask policies.

The newest change will affect how guests wear masks when dining at a Disney World restaurant.

The new policy, shared on Disney’s website states that when dining at a restaurant, guests must wear face coverings while standing, waiting, or sitting in dining locations. This means that the only time guests are permitted to remove masks is while they’re actively eating or drinking.
