Warm Temperatures and a Low Chance of Rain Are Projected for Disney World Next Week!

It’s just about time for a new month in Disney World!

Animal Kingdom

If you’re kicking off your March in the Most Magical Place on Earth, you’re going to want to keep up with the weather forecast. It can have a BIG impact on how you pack! To help, we’re bringing you a weather update with the temps and precipitation for next week!

Weather Forecast

According to The Weather Channel, this week is going to bring some warm temperatures, and yep, a little rain. Last week was HOT in comparison to the last few months. Will it be more of the same? Take a look!

March 1st

Monday, March 1st will start the week with the warmest temperatures that we’ll see. That day is going to max out at a 89-degree high and we’ll see 67 degrees at night.

©The Weather Channel

Even with an over 20-degree drop from day to night, your evening will STILL be warm. Bust out your favorite Disney tee!

March 2nd

The next day, March 2nd, brings us ever-so-slightly cooler temps hitting 84 degrees during the day and dropping that low down to a comfy 66 degrees.

©The Weather Channel

This is another day that you’ll probably get away without being chilly at all. Pretty sweet!

March 3rd

On Wednesday, March 3rd, we’re going to see temps jump back up a little bit. You’re low is gonna roll up just a little too!

©The Weather Channel

This day will be primarily cloudy but with a pretty low chance of rain. Maybe you won’t have to don that rain jacket!

March 4th

For Thursday, March 4th, we’re seeing a slightly cooler day (see a pattern?) in the mid-80s and a similar drop in the evening to the low 60s.

©The Weather Channel

This day will be mostly dry as well. Keep in mind that 62 degrees might feel a little chillier than you expect.

March 5th

The week continues with a BIG drop in temps and a chance of showers on March 5th.

©The Weather Channel

Don’t worry, the showers are really only around in the morning. Still, 56 degrees is COOL for a Florida March! Be prepped with an extra layer for when those temps drop.

March 6th

Saturday, March 6th brings us about the same temperatures in the day and night as the day before, just a little cooler if you can believe it. We’re looking at a mild to cool weekend.

©The Weather Channel

Here, we’ll see a 72-degree high and a 54-degree low. This day has the highest chance of rain for the week so it might be time to break out that rain jacket or poncho.

March 7th

And we’ll wrap up our week on March 7th with another (thankfully!) dry day and a little bump up in temperatures to a more comfortable zone.

©The Weather Channel

That 79 degrees looks like it will make for a B-E-A-Utiful day!

Overview of the Week

Here is a full overview of the week according to The Weather Channel. Temperatures are projected to be on the warmer end this week. We’re looking at a range of 70s to 80s highs and 50s to 60s lows. No more 40s this week!

Other websites like Click Orlando News 6

…and WESH 2 News have similar forecasts throughout the week.

Of course, these predictions might change a little (or even a lot)! Keep an eye on that forecast as you’re leading up to your trip and check periodically once you make it to Disney World too.

Tips for Weathering the Weather!

Now that we know the weather, we’ve got a few tips on how to pack and plan for those temperatures so you stay comfortable in temperature and dryness.

Grab Some Layers!

This is the first week in a while that you might be able to get away without layering for a few days, but other days this tip is as important as ever! Grab a jacket, hat, and/or scarf to throw on when those temperatures drop in the evening.

Baby Yoda Long-Sleeve Shirt

Remember, Disney gear comes at a premium so if you find yourself having to BUY your layers because your cold in the park, you might end up paying a pretty penny. Unless you’re hoping for a new Disney jacket, make sure you bring your own.

Pack for rain!

There’s not too much rain in the forecast this week, but the further we get into spring, the more likely a surprise shower will be! Make sure your luggage and park bag have a poncho or rain jacket so that you’re dry if the skies open up.

Pack some Ponchos!

When you have a rain layer, a little bit of a shower can be a nice cool-off on those warmer days! When you don’t have a rain layer, they’re a BIG nuisance that might have you heading for a gift shop.

Click here for more tips for packing your park bag!

And there you have it! Have SO much fun in Disney World next week! We’ll check in again with the weather soon!

More MAJOR Work Is About Kick-Off at Disney World’s Star Wars Hotel

One of Disney World’s most anticipated experiences is taking a BIG step forward!

©Disney

Just yesterday we noticed that Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, the upcoming Star Wars hotel experience, is HIRING. This immersive accommodation is supposed to be a whole new kind of experience. Now, just after taking the BIG staffing step, we spotted another sign of progress!

Today, Walt Disney Imagineering filed not one but TWO permits for significant theming work on Galactic Starcruiser! The hotel will make guests feel like they’re actually in space and include personalized story experiences onboard which means the sets are going to have to feel pretty immersive.

©Disney

The first permit was filed with Adirondack Scenic, Inc. for the “Fabrication and Installation of Show Sets.” Adirondack Scenic does MAJOR sets for shows and attractions around the world including many for Universal theme parks (like Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem!).

Permit Screenshot

This permit means that work is about to kick off on the actual set portions of Galactic Starcruiser and we are thrilled. The concept art alone has us “oohing” and “aahing,” so knowing that it’s coming together in real life is kind of mindblowing.

Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser

Currently, the expiration date for the permit is listed as January 29th, 2022 which is the date that this construction must be completed and all payments made to the contractor. This is interesting because the hotel is still listed as opening in 2021. Of course, we’re not sure, but typically set installation is COMPLETE before an attraction or experience is debuted. We will keep you all posted as more information is shared.

©Disney via IAAPA Expo 2020 Presentation

Still, progress is progress! We also spotted a permit filed with Candela Controls, Inc. for “Theatrical Lighting and Controls.” These sorts of lighting kits could make it possible for the lights across the ship to reflect the story and create an even more immersive experience.

Permit Screenshot

Candela Controls has done some work in the Disney area including designing the lighting for both the Coca-Cola Store and Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs. The expiration date here is in January as well.

Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Dining

We certainly are VERY excited to see these show sets and lighting design in real life so these permits have been very exciting news today. As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates on Galactic Starcruiser and from Disney permits.

There Are Hidden Messages All Over Disney’s NEW Jewelry Collection!

2021 is the 70th anniversary of Disney’s Alice and Wonderland!

Magic Kingdom

To celebrate, we’ve checked out a new clothing collectionwaved at Alice in the parks, and closely followed the refurb going down at the Mad Tea Party. But when we stopped by Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom today, we spotted another reason to celebrate! There’s a new Alice in Wonderland Pandora line of jewelry. Happy unbirthday to us!

There are lots of fanciful pieces in this collection, so let’s get right into it. First, there’s a Drink Me Dangle charm. The shrinking potion is the color of Alice’s dress and has a label that reads “Curious.” It’s $65.

Drink Me!

Next, we’ve got a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party charm. This one features a teeny tiny Alice on the Mad Hatter’s hat, complete with some colorful flowers. Guess that Drink Me potion worked, after all! This charm is $65, too.

Look how small Alice is!

The Key and Knob Dangle charm has the famous door knob from Alice in Wonderland, along with the key.

Key & Door Knob Charm

It’s $60. Plus, the back of the doorknob has a hidden message! It reads “A new adventure.

Check out that “hidden” message!

You can celebrate your very merry unbirthday with the Unbirthday Party Teapot charm, which is $75. It features the Dormouse inside a blue teapot — which is that same Alice dress blue! There’s also a pocket watch dangling on a tiny chain.

Hey there, Dormouse!

If you want something a little crazier, there’s a Cheshire Cat charm, too! The Cheshire Cat’s shrunken body holds onto his (very enlarged) head. Of course, we’ve got that classic grin. This charm’s $55!

Is it just us or…is this a little creepy?

The last charm in the collection is a Cheshire Cat and Absolem Caterpillar charm. It’s definitely a more subtle accessory — you’ve gotta squint to make out the characters inside the charm! This one’s $45.

The Chesire Cat and Absolem Caterpillar are just hangin’ out!

And lastly, there’s a bracelet! The Cheshire Cat Clasp Pandora Moments Bangle is your every day bangle…but the clasp is our Cheshire Cat friend!

Cheshire Cat Bangle

Here’s a closer look at that clasp. This bangle is $75.

Take a closer look!

Well, that’s all for this collection! We’ve now seen an Alice in Wonderland AND Cinderella line, so we’ll keep an eye out for more Disney-inspired jewelry. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news!

Three MAJOR Rides Are Having Some “Secret” Work Done in Disney World!

It might surprise you just how much work Disney has going on behind the scenes!

Animal Kingdom

We tend to keep an eye on all the different building permits that Disney is filing to see what kind of work they might be doing that would impact guests — visible AND behind-the-scenes. Well, we spotted a few signs of construction on some of your favorite attractions!

Disney typically files dozens of permits every week and some are more interesting than others. Today, we’re looking at a few permits that might mean maintenance on some high-profile attractions. You likely won’t see this work as a guest, so it’s a peek BEHIND THE SCENES!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

First up, Disney recently filed a permit for a “Door Installation” at the address coded to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT. This permit was filed by Walt Disney Imagineering with the aptly named contractor, Florida Door Solutions.

Permit Screenshot

Typically when a permit is filed by Imagineering, it means it directly has to do with Imagineering plans. So, though this may just be some sort of boring old door, it could also be a piece of the attraction itself. After all, in most cases, you don’t need an entirely separate contractor just to do the doors.

Guardians of the Galaxy Construction

As a note, Florida Door Solutions primarily specializes in residential and commercial garage doors. Maybe the attraction will feature an impressive bay door or something?! Or maybe it’s an offstage door?! Whatever the case, progress is progress!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Concept Art ©Disney

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is set to be an indoor roller coaster based on (you guessed it) the Guardians of the Galaxy. It will feature an omnicoaster ride system and a reverse launch. Pretty cool! Come through, Florida Door Solutions!

Click here to learn everything you need to know about Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind!

Splash Mountain

The second attractions permit we spotted is for the address coded to Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom. We are on high alert for Splash Mountain permits since we know the ride will be rethemed to The Princess and the Frog soon. We just don’t know when! Don’t panic though, this permit probably doesn’t signal an impending closure.

Princess and the Frog attraction Concept Art ©Disney

The permit is for “Electrical Work” with Maddox Electric. It’s also filed by Walt Disney World Resort, not Imagineering who is in charge of the retheme.

Permit Screenshot

Maddox Electric does a lot of regularly scheduled maintenance around Disney World. In fact, it’s one of the most common contractors we see Disney file. It’s not super typical to see attractions get a lot of work, but rides are complex buildings that need some upkeep once in a while.

Splash Mountain

Good to know Disney is keeping everything ship-shape; or should we say log-shape?

Want to learn more about the retheme? Click here!

Expedition Everest

And finally, we spotted a permit for the address coded to Expedition Everest in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Specifically, the address references the Expedition Everest “Queue Village.”

Permit Screenshot

This one is filed with Grunau Company for “General Construction.” Grunau Company is another one that we see a lot for maintenance and such. The Expedition Everest queue is SUPER detailed so it makes sense that Disney might hire a contractor to perform the work.

Expedition Everest

Grunau Company specializes in fire protection. No wonder we see Disney filing with them so often! Keeping Expedition Everest from burning down seems like a pretty high-priority task.

Entrance to Expedition Everest

Behind-the-scenes peeks like this give us some idea as to just how much work and money it takes to maintain one attraction!

Did you know Expedition Everest was evacuated recently? Take a look!

These permits sure are interesting. It’s pretty cool to get a glimpse at the kind of upkeep Disney is constantly doing behind the scenes to keep things ready for guests. We’ll continue to keep an eye on Disney permits so stay tuned to DFB for all the latest updates!
