Menus Include Lots of Fresh Flavors For the 2021 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival
Spring is in the air….
Ok…maybe not quite yet for most of the country, but for the south, the springtime temps, greenery, and flowering trees are definitely a sign that spring is here. Which means that the welcome Taste of EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival is just about to kick off! This year, the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival will run for the longest it’s ever run – from March 3 through July 5!
One of the best parts of this festival are all the fresh flavors in the food and beverage creations. And this year is no exception. Plus, there are a large number of new dishes that are being introduced for this year’s EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival, which means even if you’ve gone in the past, there will be something new to try!
This year, there will be over 20 Outdoor Kitchens to enjoy, including two new booths. They are the EPCOT Sunshine Griddle offering delicious brunch items, and EPCOT Farmers Feast, which will feature a rotating seasonal menu offering the finest local ingredients throughout the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival.
Oh and for you collectors, you’ll want to certainly pick up the new version of the Orange Bird sipper!
Returning to the festival this year is the Garden Graze. This is a fun food stroll highlighting five delicious offerings at the festival. Guests will find all of the delicious options listed in the Festival Passport. Upon your Garden Graze purchase, you will receive a stamp for your Festival Passport. Once you’ve collected all five stamps, you should bring your Festival Passport to Pineapple Promenade Outdoor Kitchen to receive a complimentary prize that is exclusive to the festival.
Oh and unique music is coming back to the America Gardens Theater, as each weekend, you can enjoy a series of concerts during the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival. These concerts will feature local Orlando bands. Performances will take place Friday through Monday evenings.

NEWS: Bill to Reopen Disneyland Sooner Moves Forward
Disneyland remains closed due to the global pandemic.
Downtown Disney and Buena Vista Street are currently open, and Disney California Adventure is planning to reopen for a limited-time ticketed event in March. However, due to California state mandates, Disneyland Resort as a whole remains closed. But we’ve been following the progress of a bill that may allow the parks to reopen sooner than planned.
This bill was proposed at the beginning of February, and was later approved by the Anaheim City Council with a vote of 6-1. It would allow theme parks to reopen in the moderate (orange) COVID-19 risk tier rather than the minimal (yellow) risk tier. Currently, some smaller amusement parks in the state can reopen in that moderate risk tier. This bill attempts to make the opening timeline the same for larger theme parks like Disneyland or Universal Studios Hollywood.
On Tuesday, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously in support of this bill. Supervisor Kathryn Barger wrote in a letter of support to the bill’s sponsors, “With full outdoor operations and the ability to maintain physical distancing, theme parks across the country have proven that they can safely reopen…By opening our theme parks, we will trigger a ripple effect to our local economy, and in turn, create more jobs.”
Barger cites that densely populated areas such as Los Angeles would have a difficult time meeting the minimal risk criteria: one daily case of COVID-19 per 100,000 residents, along with a test positivity rate of less than 2%. She adds that larger theme parks have “safely reopened” across the country with no “outbreaks or spread,” demonstrating that California could follow suit.
The bill will be heard in committee on March 7th. We’ll keep watching this situation and keep you posted with any news. Stay tuned to DFB!

NEWS: Disney’s Star Wars Hotel Is Hiring!
If you’re looking a completely immersive Star Wars experience where you can truly live out your own Star Wars story, it sounds like Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (a.k.a. the Star Wars hotel that’s not really a hotel) might just be the thing for you.
The hotel is currently set to open in 2021 and we’ve been keeping a close eye on all of the construction going on there. But, today a MAJOR new development has been spotted related to the Star Wars hotel. Anyone out there want to work in space?
It looks like things are really moving forward with the Star Wars hotel because Disney is looking to hire someone to help lead this new experience! A brand new job was posted today (February 25th) on the Disney Careers website. According to the post, Disney is currently searching for a Hotel Services Director for Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser!
The post notes that Disney is looking for a “seasoned hotelier with senior leadership hospitality experience.” As Hotel Services Director, the individual will “lead and implement a unique immersive two-night experience aligned with our Star Wars franchise.”
The responsibilities of the role include communicating with “Entertainment and Cast Members to keep the experience on schedule,” being the central “filtering point for all creative input from project team members,” and more.
So, if visiting the hotel just isn’t enough, and you really want to LIVE, eat, and breathe the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser experience (and assuming you’ve got the experience required), you may want to apply to this position!
The job post doesn’t share any details regarding when the experience will officially be opening or anything like that, but we are definitely looking for any updates on that.
The 2-night immersive experience at Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is set to put you at the center of all the action. Guests will board a Launch Pod to reach the ship they’ll be staying at during this adventure, which is named The Halcyon. There will a few different passenger cabins aboard with views to space. Aboard the ship, you’ll spot familiar Star Wars characters, get the chance to navigate The Halcyon and operate its defense systems, train with a lightsaber, and much more.
Again, the experience is currently set to open in 2021. We are on the lookout for more details and updates and will let you know what we find!
