Spend MORE Time in the Disney World Parks in Early March!

It seems that every other day Disney World is extending park hours!

Spaceship Earth

Today, we’ve got good news for those of you visiting from February 28th to March 13th, because park hours have been extended on select days in ALL four parks!

Magic Kingdom

The first date to be extended in the Magic Kingdom is February 28th, which is now open from 9AM-8PM that day. While March 1st-4th stay the same, the weekend hours are now longer! On March 5th, guests can stay in the park for 12 hours from 9AM-9PM, and on March 6th, 7th, and 8th guess can be in the park from 9AM-10PM.

Additionally, Magic Kingdom is open from 9AM-8PM on March 9th giving guests an extra hour than before. And rounding out the extensions for this park is 9AM-8PM on March 11th.

EPCOT

For the first time in a long time, EPCOT was open until 11PM last weekend! It looks like this park will continue that trend for Saturday nights because on both March 6th and 13th, EPCOT is open from 11AM-11PM. This is an extra 2 hours from the previous park hours!

©Disney

Remember the days when park hours were so limited, we had to leave before dark? Looks like those days are fading fast. Other hour changes include 11AM-9PM park hours for March 5th and 12th. Besides these dates, EPCOT stayed the same!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Heading over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there were not too many changes! Even though the park is usually a steady 9AM-7PM daily, Disney changed it up and added an hour on March 12th and 13th.

©Disney

On these two days, you’ll be able to stay in the parks from 9AM-8PM. It’s not much, but hey, we’ll take any extra park time we can get!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Last but not least, we’ve got park hour updates in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! On February 28th, the park will be open to guests from 8AM-7PM, giving guests an extra hour. Disney gives guests a lot more time in the park on March 6th and 13th with hours of 8AM-8PM.

Other extensions include hours from 8AM-6PM on March 11th, and hours from 8AM-7PM on March 12th. Now you can head to Pandora at night and check out the new bioluminescent paint!

Disney is extending park hours CONSTANTLY, so if you’re planning your trip months in advance, those park hours may change! We’ll be here to keep you updated on all of the park hour changes. If you are going during this time, enjoy your extra hours in the parks!

Guess How Much These Disney Souvenirs Cost…Then Add a 0. 😳

Every now and then we come across souvenirs in Disney World that are RIDICULOUSLY expensive. And no, we aren’t talking about those head-scratching $14 Mickey balloons that are perhaps a tad overpriced. Think instead a one-of-a-kind replica Cinderella Castle that costs a measly $37, 500, or those STUNNING hand-crafted tables we spotted at Festival of the Arts for $30,000.

Michael Maiden Table

We didn’t stumble across anything that was THAT expensive on our recent trip to Magic Kingdom, but the price tag on these glass bowls still made our eyes basically pop out of our head.

Uptown Jewelers is a gem (hehehe, pun intended) when it comes to stunning hand-crafted Disney souvenirs as well as higher-end accessories like jewelry and watches. While we were browsing all of those lovely items we definitely cannot afford, we found this set of glass homeware.

Glass bowl set from Uptown Jewelers

They caught our eye in particular because the design is a little retro and includes Hollywood Studios’ old “Earffel Tower,” along with all of the other park iconsThe icons are accompanied by Mickey Mouse, palm trees, and plenty of fireworks.

These bowls are giving us MAJOR throwback vibes with the Earrful Tower!

We half contemplated finding a spot for these items on our shelf. And then we looked at the price tag. After that, we nearly spit out our non-existent drink. Turns out the vase (the taller of the two items) retails for $5,500, and the second, more shallow bowl retails for a modest $6,750.

This might be the most expensive fish bowl we’ve ever seen.

Yeah…we’ll sit this one out. Even if we were interested, we would be terrified to pick it up, let alone carry it to our car and safely drive it home…let alone FLY with it in our luggage!

…but how does it fit in a suitcase?

There’s no doubt that these are stunning works of art that if you can swing the cost would make a beautiful addition to your home! But if you need us, we can be found scoping out the latest pair of Minnie Ears or perhaps a new, cute, soft, NOT breakable stuffed animal to bring home with us instead.

Disney History Buffs! Walt Disney Archives Exhibit Has Been Extended!

Last year, Disney fans in Southern California got a rare opportunity to see some unique Disney memorabilia straight from the Walt Disney Archives.

Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, CA

This opportunity was all thanks to the Inside the Walt Disney Archives: 50 Years of Preserving the Magic exhibit at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, CA. That exhibit was initially set to end in August 2020, but after a months-long closure due to the global health crisis, the museum reopened and extended the exhibit until September.

The museum closed again, with the exhibit extended until February 28th, 2021,  but now the Bowers Museum has announced the exhibit has been extended once more, this time until April 25th.

Beware of hitchhiking ghosts — at the Bowers Museum

The exhibit, which takes up a total of 10,000 square feet began its life at D23 Expo Japan in 2018. However, the exhibit at the Bowers Museum includes some additional rare items on loan from Disney. Guests can expect to see over 400 items, including original artwork, props, and costumes from the Walt Disney Archives, the Walt Disney Company, and Walt Disney himself.

Original Mickey and Minnie Toys

At the moment, the museum is still closed to the public, but as soon as it reopens, guests will be able to buy tickets for $23 per adult on weekdays and $25 per adult on weekends ($5 for children aged 3-11). Tickets are sold on a timed entry basis, meaning that guests will need to buy them for specific dates and times.

Movie Memoribilia — Heya, Roger!

We’ll keep an eye on the museum to see when it might reopen and let you know when you can buy tickets for the exhibit. We had a chance to see it last March, and let us just say that there is a LOT to see for Disney fans, including Walt Disney’s desk, some Frozen costumes, and much MUCH more!
